Born American Southern Californian. Long, but HUGE language tip if you can make it. The, "I hear you." It depends on how YOU aquire knowledge. For Americans, we speak with how we aquire information, and we passively learn this in early age. 1. Sight: Read info, see info. These people primarily like to read to learn. Or see how something is done. ("Look, what I'm saying is... or I see what your saying.") 2. Hearing: Sound, audio. They can be told how to do something. Or you need to hear how it sounds. Sometimes over and over before it sticks. ("Listen, so I was walking down the street or Did you hear what happened last night?") 3. Feel: Process or understanding. They receive the info, then must process it mentally then it sticks. These are hands on, they need to participate, write it down. They need to practice the words to see how they vibrate and how the facial expressions go with it. ("I had so much fun the other night" Or it's about the emotion of the story.) Here's the trick, only if you understand all I've said above and how it applies to you and others. Some people learn multiple ways, or use specific methods for specific knowledge. So Congratulations! Depending on what you mainly are or are at the time, go with YOU. 1. I see 2. I hear 3. I feel Sympathy/Empathy 1. I see you are in a lot of pain, you all right?. I see you got some work piling up, need help. 2. I hear you man. I hear what you are saying. I'm listening to you and I am hearing you say... 3. I feel your pain. I feel like you are saying...I feel like you are telling me... Confrontational 1. I see, what you are saying is... What I see you telling me is.... 2. What I hear you saying is.... I'm listening and what you are telling me is... 3. I understand what you are telling me. I understand what you are saying is. I feel like you are... This makes me feel. Americans use their own. At correct times, and wrong times. I've had someone crying, straight up said, "this is super awkward and uncomfortable." Offered help. Exactly what they needed. Just communicate. Overly if necessary. Above what you think is comfortable. Never met or even seen a bad uncomfortable situation of someone trying to speak more English. They'll tell you if it's too much. Because we are vocal. That's why we say SCUSME, even when we are about to break somones line of sight, AND ESPECIALLY if you have to touch them. Just begin sentences with what you are at the time. See what I am saying? Do you hear these words? Or do you feel like you understand and comprehend it?

Great video! It is totally those little transitions/fillers that make a North American conversation flow, or seem too forward if they are lacking. A lot of my clients report difficulty with engaging in small talk! Best of luck with your course:-)

Hi Christina, I would like to ask you a personal question, If you don't mind. I was wondering if you have already received ambiguous messages from followers. It is common that people admire their teacher and some of them are dreaming to share some moments with them. For my side, I have met some really good teachers, while I was studying. One of them was my Spanish teacher. I mean she could have taught the life of worms, I probably would have adored it. Do you hear me ?
