The bus is doing great already! It pays to know not to use metal conduit on your build. I wouldn't have thought about that either. A car's battery is just grounded through the negative terminal of the battery, but don't build your higher voltage and amperage system with metal conduit that will touch your 12 volt DC chassis ground.
