This step van conversion was a step up in carpentry, design, and comfort👍. I can see a lot more of these on the road for people who want to live in full-time. Makes sense to combat the cost of rent & mortgages, plus getting to see more this beautiful country. A Win-win situation for sure!

How much did everything cost once you completed it?
@wildsage5 ай бұрын
I don’t have an exact tally on it but it couldn’t have been more than a couple hundred bucks. Maybe slightly more if you include the mattress.

Great build. I would lower it to be able to sit upright without bending over but other than that, it would be perfect for me.

Thanks to this video, it wasn’t intimidating and I was able to do it, while following along step by step. Solid directions and the material List was Key. Big Thanks 🤙🏽

Been thinking about you and Kopek a lot lately as my dog Dingo is undergoing surgery Tuesday to remove three fatty tumors from her chest. She’s eight and there are risks but I’m hoping she’s pulls through and it buys us more time together. I hope you and Cat are doing well and have been having many wonderful adventures…

This might be a silly question.... but with this mod still work if the back is locked? I'd like to be able to keep the back locked for safety purposes but I'd also like to be able to get out from the inside for safety purposes
@wildsage8 ай бұрын
Im pretty sure if you’ve locked the doors this won’t work. I always kept my keys and key fob near me when I slept inside. So I could just unlock it with that or slide up and press the button at the drivers seat.

As an Element owner, also 2006, who camps, don’t we all constantly try to improve??😂😂😂😂 I once reorganized it during a trip……. When I added an SUV Tent, I fell in love with my Element all over again. Getting ready to reconfigure for 2024 season.

Nice, but a word of caution, the ABS water heating will deteriorate in the sun after some time. A coat of black paint will add some protection.

I'm getting ready to do this mod this weekend. My only concern is the pull ring thumping against the hatch while driving. Have you noticed any noise from the ring since you did this mod?
@wildsage Жыл бұрын
I was a little worried about it but it didn’t really happen for me. I only got to use it for a few months before my element was totaled though. But if you are concerned you could use something softer as the handle.
I like seeing what can be done with an Element. Nice work!

Thank you. I appreciate it. I loved this build but it was only alive for a short while.
@CJ-nf5jd Жыл бұрын
Very nice. I like your thinking of keeping it as roomy and light as possible. The easier it is to build and maintain the better and it works. The more complicated something is the more things to go wrong and harder to repair.
