Thank you for sharing this! I went through something similar directly related to my total disdain for my job at the time. The buspar I was prescribed did exactly what it did for you, helped me take a deep breath at a time where everything seemed hopeless. I ended up getting a job at my dream company less than a year after and getting on the medication was what got the ball rolling. This was like six years ago, the thing is I started taking buspar again recently and its helped alot but there are those days were it doesn’t bring total relief. I’m thinking of adding hydroxyzine the same way you did, one or twice a week for those tougher days.

Ok. This helps SO much. I have been on Duloxetine and Buspar for 8 months, today I saw my doctor and let him know that it just feels like a light band aid, still having intrusive thoughts etc..so he prescribed Hydroxyzine today for me. I hope I have the same experience. Good luck on your journey!

My brother was put on Buspar and it caused paranoia, depression, anxiety, hallucinations, and aggression. He was given Buspar with Trazodone, which I later discovered should not have been done. Buspar is also not suppose to be given with Duloxetine. At one time my brother was also put on Hydroxyzine, and it caused a severe B12 deficiency that led to a high ammonia, which causes hallucinations and other psychiatric problems. I started doing research, and had his doctor take him off this garbage. My brother suffered for several decades due to these psychiatrists giving him trazodone and buspar. Not one of the doctors over those decades knew that there are warnings against giving these drugs together. I had him taken off of Buspar, and now he's back to normal. I also give him a fully active B complex vitamin, zinc, magnesium, and pure encapsulations brand multi vitamin. His problems were being caused by an elevated free copper, which his doctor never heard of. The test number at lab corp for free copper is 279071. It's a different test than a serum copper test, this test will measure the amount of unbound or free copper contained in the serum copper. If your free copper is high, you can take 50 mg of zinc, one hour before meals, 3 times per day, and it will lower the free copper to a non toxic state in around 9-12 months. A low B12 at the tissue level was also causing part of my brother's problems. To test the B12 tissue level, you need a methylmalonic acid blood test. If it's low at the tissue level, this acid will always be elevated. A normal B12 blood test won't show the tissue B12 level. I hope this helps out. Just started these 2 meds today. Chilling on the couch, because Doc said I would get drowsy. So tomorrow, I will get back to work. Low dosage at the start, so not too worried about side effects.

Im happy to hear about your positive results from taking low dose Buspar for your "depression " in 4 wk s of time however I think it is important for those who are watching this video with similar sx of depression that buspar is NOT fda approved for Maj depression but rather generalized anxiety so please be evaluated by a psychiatrist who specializes in medication management before taking buspar for Major Depression as it has NOT been scientifically proven to be safe or beneficial for that condition but rather for generalized anxiety disorder

Honestly just listening to you talk calms me down but hydroxyzine definitely helps it helps me except you do not wanna feel the side effects there’s like nausea Dizziness trust me it’ll feel like the drunkest you’ve ever been So make sure you’re super hydrated while taking hydroxyzine

Oh no! Don’t be! If they don’t work, you can find something that does. There are many wonderful antidepressants out there. Just stay in close communication with your doctor and you both and just take it one step at a time. They’ve worked wonders for me. I really hope you can find some relief ❤️

I am scared to buspar for the first time

I take Hydroxyzine 50 mg twice a day. It is the best thing that ever happened to me! The first few days, I was groggy but that went away. I never felt high from it! I am prescribed up to 150 mg per day. (50mg 3 times a day) as needed. Hydroxyzine has had no side effects for me.

i use it for sleep cuz i got cirrhosis. got it for being itchy and it kept me up so i treat it like benadryl. never knew it was for anxiety

I was on Buspar It was not a good med for me it increased my anxiety kept me up at night I felt these weird sensations in my forehead and I increased my restless leg syndrome to the point where it was painful. My doctor prescribed hydroxycine for me today because my zolpidem hasn't been keeping me asleep so fingers crossed this works because I can't take benadryl either because of the irritability it causes and increases restless leg as well hope it's not the same. Hi Beautiful Warrior--Benadryl also gives me HORRIBLE restless legs, to the point where I was almost in tears every night. Then I was prescribed Zolpidem as well, but that began to wear off. I'm now on Qviviq. If you see this, how are you doing now?

Sorry just saw this! I didn’t notice any appetite changes. I was on Zoloft years ago and that really made me gain weight and increased my appetite. Buspar I’m only on 15mg and it works GREAT! I feel so good on it. Just really happy and not zombied out. But things work differently for different people so if it doesn’t work for you, keep trying. There are some amazing medications out there. I hope you find the best fit 💜

This isn’t for depression. Why would you take bus-spar? why wouldn’t your doctor prescribe Wellbutrin as thahs for depression and for anxiety, jus curious because busspar it even says on label that it is only and only works for anxiety (mostly generalized anxiety) which I have generalized anxiety I’m curious why others would take it when there other options for those disorders or both, I would be concern that your doctor didn’t give you something else your doctor has red flags to me,

Its mechanism of action is to treat anxiety but because of the complex neurological effects it can absolutely treat depression. With less side effects of an SSRI or SNRI and for those who can’t tolerate them. If you have to question a doctor it’s because you haven’t done enough research.

It’s usually just used to calm anxiety. I would ask your doctor though. They will know how to treat you best 💜
