As someone with no direct vested interest in this game's success, I think Paper Planet looks REEEALLY cool 😜 That actually went incredibly well with such a low firerate! Post-launch support is 100% in the works! Hopefully after tackling balancing and other fixes we can whip up a proper roadmap :) Thanks again Wander!

Go to menu and then to settings. Under settings look in gameplay and there should be a checkbox for “advanced item description” it makes life so much better, some items still are a bit vague, but most give flat stat info

Some items have a blue tint around their box. Those items give the charged shots and the times stack, so getting multiple makes them fire less often. They scale off of fire rate so you should increase that before getting multiple charge items. In the settings you can equip advanced item descriptions to see exactly what an item does stat wise.

About winning on the first run: What I really like is shattered pixel dungeon style "progression" where you can technically win, and there is no meta progression. However if you don't know the tricks on how to easily identify potions, how enemy's work and the ins and out of items, there is not a chance you are going to make it. For example, every run, all potions are a random color, so you cant go red is healing, and you need to either drink or throw them to figure out which is which. This has a lot of danger associated with it as yeeting a healing potion or drinking toxic gas can be quite devastating. Later on however, you realize that on every floor, there is one guy that has heal pots in its loot table, thus if that guy drops a potion, its a health pot, similarly the shop between floors always sells 2 health pots. In addition, when there is a puzzle, the solution, often a potion, can always be found on the same floor.

if projectile size is modifiable, you should either go for pixel art, or SVG based graphics, to avoid the scaling issues

in terms of motion sickness in vr ive seen a bunch of people, 2 of which i know irl, just keep using vr until they stop getting motion sick. It does take a while, but repeated exposure usually will start to reduce and even eliminate motion sickness. your body just has to adapt to it.

really fun combo imo is the volcano planet violet's bud and overcharged engine because together you can hold both block and shoot blocking everything including yellow shots while getting faster and faster both in speed around the planet and fire rate which matters cause the volcanoes shoot with you and there's three of them

about the nuclear throne screenshake comment I find that there's only two ways to play nuclear throne, NO screenshake, or ALL the screenshake

Speen gives a speed and fire rate buff the faster you move, though, it does have a limit

dialogues were coded extremely badly and the devs made a poll to see if they should try to fix them for release or cut them and prioritise bug fixing and polishing, cutting them won 81 to 1

it is amazing just how much you have played paper planet, but still have absolutely no idea how anything works, besides the basic mechanics. And even on the basic mechanics, you had to relearn how blue upgrades work, and completely forgot about autofiring.

Looks like a neat game, it's just not a roguelike, it's not like rogue, looks like it's a rogueLITE though.
