Just glad that broken brake line didn’t suck in your hand! 😅

Beautiful video footage. Glad you were able to get back in the air quickly. I have two Miniplanes and I really like how easy and affordable I can get parts from Chad.

Thanks for sharing, Doc! Glad you weren't hurt, and that's great you were able to fly the next day. Please keep these awesome videos coming. I know it's a pain to edit and publish, but they're quite helpful to our PPG community!

Thanks for sharing. Been there and done that too. A lot of feelings were hurt - and a frame 😓

similar damage happened to me on a launch, but my parajet frame folded, blade hit dirt as it ate 10 of my lines :( but so true: take your time, recognize when to stop and try again another day! (looking forward to improving my skills in 23! Richard

Hi Val, I’ve been looking for your videos. You are my alter ego. I’m trying to learn off your mistakes. Trust me I’d make more. I’m not a flying pilot but a wannabe. It’s on my bucket list. Be careful and think conservative. You can’t be too careful it seems. Just a small stupid mistake can screw up your day it seems.

By far, most flights don't have anything go wrong and are wonderful and fun. Hope you fly soon!

Glad you’re ok and the damage wasn’t worse.👍 I’m wondering also, how wet was your wing. That looked like a very soggy area. Thanks for posting. I just had my second “unscheduled landing” Got a little footage of it too. Blue skies.
@valeriewrede4862 жыл бұрын
The wing wasn't very wet. How were your 'unscheduled landings'?
@aerobatty12 жыл бұрын
@@valeriewrede486 The last one was my carb silencer going through my prop a couple minutes after launch, so landed back near my car. The first one was a disintegrated roller bearing. Motor wasn’t making full power. Had to get over a river (narrow) for a shorter trip back to my car. As soon as I got across, the motor locked up tight. Quiet, uneventful landing in a farmer’s field and a $10 Uber back to my car. $300 to replace piston, cylinder and head. This one cost about $400 for a silencer and prop. Not too bad.

Glad you were okay. We were thought in training that 3 failed launches, call it. Its best to call it than hurt yourself or damage equipment.
@valeriewrede4862 жыл бұрын
We weren't taught a specific number of failed launches but as a pilot are you in the 'green, yellow, or red.' Green - good to go; yellow - think it over; red - take a break.

Glad your ok. If that brake line hadn't cut do you think your hand could've been sucked into the prop? Also, with a reverse launch do you think you would've been able to do it?
@valeriewrede48611 ай бұрын
I was lucky. I should have done a reverse launch. And, if my skills weren’t good enough to do a reverse launch that day, then I shouldn’t have tried to fly. I’ve practiced kiting a lot more since then!

I learned the hard lesson didn’t abort and my wing went into my prop. Ouch
