This was a fairly typical, low effort 80’s movie. It did have a couple of touching scenes that pulled at the heartstrings and showed that Richard Pryor could truly act. However, the “I love you” comments felt way too cheesy and actually took away from the movie. There was nothing about the character of Miss. Perry that makes it even remotely believable that Braxton would fall in love with her or she with him. Other than this though, I think it’s worth the watch.
