You and your helpful information is what made me take the step to throw away comb and brush and just allow nature to take its course. I'll admit that in the beginning I was ready to cut my hair and get formed locs, but I've stayed the course and two years later I'm loving the look.

Idk why these twisted dreads or sponge dreads are even considered freeforms. The sponge just twist up your hair and give more organic looking parting, but there's not much of a difference between the sponge method than manually creating parts and twisting up the hair. Btw I don't recommend sponging your hair, it causes a lot of breakage and dries out your hair from the constant friction

I'm letting my hair do what it wants too. Even so, I have the impression that nothing has changed about it... When it's dry it's a mess, all wrinkled and imperfect, I think it looks like a 4C. Then it's time for me to wash it, and it sort of "detangles itself" and becomes something close to a 3C... Practically curls! I have faith that one day it will become cool locks...

Hey Domi boy, quick question. I'm almost 3 months into my freeform journey, question is, shall i keep using my fingers to twist my hair or do i just leave them cuz am in the habit of twisting everyday. what do u advise?
@AllisOneOneisAllАй бұрын
Dont twist anything bruh. Just literally wash your hair with soap one to two times a month(if u physically active like that). The rest just moisturize your scalp with something natural. Stay healthy(learn about your body and its connection to your hair) eliminate as much unneccessary stressors, and trod on through existence. The locs will come just be patient and let the ALMIGHTY make your locs. Not YOU

@@aharon-mawu-wienipaanauel-liza no prob, its like growing a tree. There is only a method(washing, detox if needed, moisturizing) but so far until you have you have to let it grow. The more you interfere, the more you fuck it up. ignore these young boys with that sponge, locking gel, towel or afro pick. That isnt FREEform thats YOUformed. Trust me when i say they will form on their own.

Washing part is confusing to me I am very active and sweat a lot but I wash my hair with shampoo and use a sponge once a week. Is that the wrong approach?
@okorechukwuebuka3707 ай бұрын
Yh don't use sponge just wash your hair allow them dry then if you do serious activities cover your locs up with locs cover or bonnet it will help ,anything thing too is be patient. Ve a spray bottle and use it like 3 times a week.. Not every locs like oil it might make your locs stink so i recommend just water on your spray bottle. Stay blessed

how do you section your Freeform?

You don’t: you let it section on its own, and then you separate so the hair won’t clump together.

careful bro, might end up being the loc police. lool theres a lot of misinformation about freeforms but let people call it whatever they want. technically if you separate at all, salon or solo, its not freeform. so most freeforms arent technically freeforms no matter how authentic they look. just because youve unlocked 11/10 looking freeforms again doesnt mean you should gatekeep 😂 W video though
@NM-en3fl8 ай бұрын
So are you saying there is no such thing as free form?

@@NM-en3flGood question, bro. That’s why you have people like Johnny the Dred who has a ginormous dreadlock and basically puts himself on the margins of society just because of an obsession with lexical or conceptual perfectionism.
@nathanbobongo65778 ай бұрын
Freeform means the locks are formed freely. Forming refers to the formation of the lock-in other words, the locking process. Separation is by no means part of a lock formation. It may influence the appearance of the set of locks. But when you separate, you only pull apart the locks that are forming or are already formed. Now, if by freeforming you mean that the locks take a form of their own, then again, separating doesn’t change the locks’ freedom to assume the shape they want. In other words, by separating, I may push the who set of locks to form in a certain way. Still, the ability of the individual sections to take the shape they will is by no means thwarted, altered, or compromised. Does the Panama Canal make the water that goes through it semi-natural or unnatural water?
