I worked at a hood store for some years, and I always loved it when they would come in, pay for gas, then walk around the store and pocket things, before they decide "they don't want anything" and I would shut their pump off so they'd have no choice but to come back in. 😂😂 Worked every time.

I'm amazed at how many just steal. I used to work at a gas station (numerous decades ago) and I know of thefts. The biggest concern was them stealing fuel as I'd get in trouble for drive offs. It was easier just to pay it yourself as if you get in trouble too many times, you get fired. A job is a job. The crazy thing is, there were dodgy employees there too who would be lazy and one in particular would steal cigarettes. At one of my other work places (not a gas station) , one of the employees used to go into the gas station and stick hot pies down his pants then leave. After the second time, they called the company and he got fired. After all, our business name was on our shirts and vehicles. It was pretty easy to find him.

It didn’t make me catch . It helped me become more aware of suspicious customers. Especially the ones who reach for something and immediately turn to see if the employees are watching them instead of checking out that item. Normal customers tend not to do this.

As a loss prevention officer I know how tough it is you know and especially in the last few years it's gotten out of hand I think. But you did the right thing you got enough video and really good quality video that these people can't lie I mean you see them stick stuff in their pants and then when you confront them it's just lie away man ever since the epidemic we had things have changed in this country there's more people out there just thinking that they need to get theirs and that's what they do they're walking to the store and and they just try to steal the place and then they screw for the rest of us basically I was pretty lucky when I worked at a woman's clothing store during Christmases cuz that's when they had the most rip-offs and I just watched people and I can catch too many because of people were pretty much okay but then you get that one person that thinks they can rip off three $300 a piece sweaters I mean these are really nice ones too and I went to this lady and I said excuse me ma'am you are paying for those right and she said what I said the sweaters you have so I don't have any sweaters I said ma'am you got two seconds to be straightforward with me or I'm going to hold your ass for the police thanks but she didn't she decided to just leave Mama put him back on a rack and quietly leave and I had a few others but typically most customers are honest and actually I see something wrong a lot of people see that you are the door the we got the door I'm making sure that people are not stealing the place blind and tell you about it. The only thing that bothers me the most is these Mass people Smash and grabs that really pisses me off I just signed a petition to make it a class three felony to do something like that
