I remember going through something similar with my mother. Works between 70-100 hours/week but I was never mad for her missing games or anything like that due to my father being in and out of employment. She was able to go to more functions when I was in highschool due to becoming a Supervisor

I honestly feel bad for the dad because he spent so much time trying to get the gifts, and he worked so hard to get the money for the gifts too, but the son still doesn't appreciate it. You can tell you really cares about his son. He kind of reminds me of my mom because she would work on her small business, and now she works at the hospital, but then and now she wouldn't be able to come to events like final acting performance, and for my sister; cello group. However, she worked really hard for us and, she was super thoughtful and supportive, so we were grateful and appreciative of that.

Honestly, this is a bit wrong. As someone who was a basketball kid, I’d have to bike miles to the school, my parents didn’t show up to a single game until our tournament championship for freshman year at our own tournament. I was dropping 20 a game, and it was never their fault. Between jobs and siblings and other things, it’s impossible to do it all. I’ve always been gracious that they let me play the sport.
