BUSY DAY! Shore Fishing for River Monster (Sturgeon)

It's been a while since I have been sturgeon fishing on shore. I decided to hit the Fraser river on a sunny day, hoping for some bites. It ended up being a productive day from catching my own bait and hooking up multiple sturgeon. Shore fishing for sturgeon can be hit or miss on the Fraser river compare to being on a boat but the reward level feels greater! Pack your shorelord rod holders and head out there for relaxing shore fishing.
Make sure to check for closure for sturgeon fishing and regulation depending on the area.

I took my grandson's to Sask to fish for sturgeon 2 years ago. I've never caught one. One of my grandson's caught 1 at the forks of the Saskatchewan River. It was small about 3 feet. He was thrilled. It was over in a minute.. He reeled it in so quick. I grabbed it for him and it split my thumb. We got a quick picture and released it. We go to the gold mine in Quesnel quite a bit and have never went Sturgeon fishing. Thought I needed a guide. Silly old man.

Hey! just wondering on how you pick your spots to fish from! I’ve fished for sturgeon twice now along different parts of the river without as much as a bite. I only seem to access shallow areas and I find the currents are strong making it hard to tell when a bite is happening or I get tangled and stuck on rocks or debris when reeling in! Any tips for me?

Under the bridge of mission and island 22 is a good start but with high water right now, I’m not too sure
