I love how at 15:30 or so when theres the front view of the C-130 getting ready to take off you can just see the massive AN-225 sneaking behind it in the shimmering air, really good

I still marvel at the power of the Antonov 225. That sucker lifted off in much less runway distance than the C-130 managed. Also, great initial image of the ghostly, giant Antonov in the background when it first appears behind the C-130. REALLY nice video.

@heatherstub10 жыл бұрын
Wowwww! I thought that was the Antonov 225. I'm learning these sounds better because of your thorough information about these planes. That's one of the qualities of these videos I appreciate the most, because we blind folks, or as I put it "blinks" absolutely love aviation. The National Federation of the Blind has an Air and Space Institute named after our founder Dr. Kennith Jernigan in Marilyn. Nancy Coates, who flew for Ozark Airlines, a commuter airline out of Missouri, was totally blind. She was the pilot, while her husband was the co-pilot. No, I don't have it confused, either. Paul Harvey did an entire segment about her back in 1979 on his popular radio show "The Rest of the Story." With all the talking equipment on airplanes today, it's easy to see how a blind person could learn to fly. She flew a 16 passenger turbo-prop which is the largest airplane we're allowed to fly, and in all her 30 plus years of flying only had 2 minor mishaps, both when her plane slid off the taxi way because of ice. No one was injured badly. Can you see why I love aviation so much?

Not sure about the new Flybe livery yet, but it is nice to see someone moving away from dull old white. I wonder what the Saudi Herk was doing, something hush-hush probably. Wonderful shot @15:20! Surprisingly quick rotation from the An225, I wonder what he was doing, something for Airbus? Is that an actual Tristar (it looks like) fuselage off to the right of the runway?

FLYBE 'faster than road or rail " I'm afraid not. By the time you have got from home to the airport, 2 hours before your flight, waited around, then had the mucking about. You could have walked out your front door, got in your car and driven almost anywhere in UK.

Nope. The longest runway in the UK is at Heathrow. Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham and Stansted also all have longer runways that East Midlands. (Plus a few airbases too). It's only claim to fame is being the second busiest airport for freight in the UK. Only 11th for passengers.

@NuclearFire10009 жыл бұрын
Stefan van Loon Doubts are not relevant in this case. E.g.: Antonov 124 ("RUSLAN") can do it great and obviously, so his big brother (corectly to say sister because from ukrainian "Mpия" translate as "Dream" do it fine). Ask yourself about C-5 Galaxy how can this aircraft can fly?! For the same reasons as Antonov 225. An-225 is great machine, and it was built at first for the Soviet Union Space Program "Energia Buran". Many years ago Russia (I'm from there) could to create big aircrafts, it will restore its positions eventually
