@Pincer88 Жыл бұрын
@@AndyPandy33 I', not certain, but possibly the two squadrons (493rd FS USAFE and 103 EFS) have some sort of mutual sponsorship? Both squadrons are also transferring their iconic Cold War twin engine fighters (F-15C and Mig-29 respectively) for single engine ones (F-35A and TF-50) and that may have created a nostalgic bond of sorts.

I used to work at the end of the runways at Lambert Airfield in St. Louis, MO (home of F-15 producer McDonnel Douglas, before being bought by Boeing). At that time the MO Air National Guard had a squadron of Eagles. It was amazing watching them take off out of there. Seeing and hearing them gives me goosebumps every time. Loved the formation of C-130s. Had one go low over us during a ski trip last year just as a I got off the lift at the top of the mountain. Better moment than any air show I've ever been at. Hercules may not be the biggest, fastest transport, but they are the best in my humble opinion. Great shots on all the aircraft. Thank you!

Really cool shots.I live in Bermo and enjoy seeing these aircraft coming past low level(yes I know they were going down Tal-Y-LLyn on this one)lI am sure that at one time they were using either the bridge or the point in the Harbour as a' target'.Sitting outside the 'Locker' and hearing the aircraft turning up the heat and going vertical when they 'drop their load' had the cups rattling on their saucers-brilliant. My dad was in the RAF. We were stationed at RAF Lyneham. I’d got a job and moved away. They’d had an open day there. My mum, dad and younger brother got to fly in a Hercules with the back open. I was absolutely gutted to have missed this. 😢😢

Disagree. F-15 totally outclasses the junker 35 in ALL aspects. Speed, power, grace... and lets see an F-35 fly with only one wing... never gonna happen. An F-15 has... way back in the 70's. You can google it. And we're not talking a little bit of the wing tip gone... it was the WHOLE wing... back to the fuselage !! Israeli fighter and he landed safely. When you see the pics, then try and tell me the F-35 is in same class as an F-15... not a chance.

@@DT-ge8gd”totally outclasses in ALL aspects” No. The F-15 was made in a bygone era. Moreover, it has different mission sets compared to the F-35. Never compare oranges to apples. The argument of the F-15 which landed with one wing and lived to see another day is interesting… simply because it was just impossible yet, it became possible through sheer prayer, and luck of the pilot.
@DT-ge8gd
@DT-ge8gd Жыл бұрын
@@kiro9257 I find it hard to believe you think landing that f-15 with one wing is "luck" !! And I'm not comparing Apples to oranges. Its an opinion based on facts and other info. It may be 40 years older... but still superior. Why do you think they are retrofitting the f-15 with later technology for current use? If it's so inferior...I'll bet you right now the f-35 wont be even in use in 40 years. Care to dare...?
