Graeme heads off fishing to the South coast to get a session in on the Saltwater. But it’s a windy day so he uses an umbrella to shield the camera's microphone. He fishes on into the dark, but can't make out what on earth is stripping all his hookbaits off...the hooks come back cleaner than they were in the packet! In the second half of the film he takes a tour of a Stately home with its perfectly laid out garden areas and view over the rolling hills in the countryside. Its a relaxing watch this week,so sit back for 55 minutes and relax...It’s Totally Awesome time again.

I think those little fish stripping your baits were black bream . He had verticle black bars . Plus giltheads have a much larger mouth. In my experience with even small gilts you get thumps on the rod top rather than rattles that's more like black and couches bream.

I wish i could let this man understand how much he has helped my sanity. 2 of my kids are severely autistic and life gets mad most days, there is nothing i like better than relaxing at night after all of the craziness and tuning in to one of these videos. I know im not the only person here who has felt like this. I cant get away fishing much (because im shit and its hard to convince the mrs why its worth it) so this is easily the next best thing. I cant thank you enough Graeme you will never understand how much you have helped people just being you. I cant wait for the next one.

You are 100% right in what you say Graham. Where are all the fish around the Kent, Sussex and Hampshire coastline. I believe it is due to over fishing by the commercials. By the way that was 100% a black bream. Giltheads have more of a wedge shaped head. Im around the same age as you and i remember if you only got half a dozen good fish, it was a bad day. Now if you catch a rockling its a result. Keep up the great videos. Your not the only one who isnt catching much. Those pink flowers at 39:55 look very much like belladonna lily, which I believe originate from South Africa. They are widespread across the world (we have them everywhere in Australia, where they are an environmental weed) and are unusual in that the flower spikes come up and die then back before the thick green leaves appear.

If I remember the last time we fished there, we blanked and got fed up with the weed, but we used to fish over by the lifeboat station for bream with some success. We used size 4 or maybe 6 circle hooks on three hook flappers with pop up beads on the snoods to keep the bait away from the crabs. It worked a treat and we caught quite a few almost in front of your feet to around maybe forty yards out. The beach fishing this year in Scotland has been quite quiet too. Tight lines

Beach fishing is so hard, I never go expecting to catch and its more in hope than anything but its so rewarding when you do. I would say there's better months than others, in essex the summer months can be very tough with a chance of a ray or bass but mostly a blank. But usually when the whiting and dogs come in around October there's a better chance of a fish. People moan about whiting but they save a blank so many times

Have you considered a beach cart for bringing your gear long? Much like your carp barrow, but 4 wheels. There are dedicated "fishing ones, but they're breathtakingly expensive. I got one for "gardening" and it was a 1/3 the price, just doesn't have the big wheels of a beach cart, yet they're about 8 inches diameter. They fold up and go in the boot of the car, but carry a ton of gear. About 4'x2'x2' with a T-bar handle. Where I live, 10 years ago you had to seriously mess up to NOT get a feed of fish. Now it seems you need to stop at the seafood shop on the way home. My missus works a few days a week at the local tackle shop, so I'm fairly plugged in to what's happening locally, yet quality and quantity has seemingly disappeared, especially since COVID, when a few million more people took up rods.

Crossness pumping station used to pump 6 tons of you know what per stroke, 11 revolutions per minute, for nearly 100 years, and there were plenty of fish in the channel. It's more likely to be overfishing by factory ships over many decades, ruining the fish nurseries. IMO.

This year has been hard for beach fishing on the south coast, some good fish have come out, but also plenty of blanks. Well done, Graeme, stick at it.

I'm going to give it another go. There have been a few good Codling showing but its just a case of living close to the sea and picking the best times.

Its certainly tough out there but will hopefully improve with some Whiting coming in as the temperatures drop.

Sand from the Sahara carried high in the stratosphere causes these red skies, there was a recent settling of dust recentlt, when people woke up to find a fine layer of sand on their cars etc.

Good point on bait v dogs, I've been setting up and some un-leashed doggo piled in and chowed down on dry broundbait while river fishing, coughing etc, not had chance to put water in. Dog owner complains, say I had meat on hook and piled in and scoffed it who's at wrong?

Got to be the owner...the dog should be on a lead, especially a public footpath....Mind you I think some of the owners should be on the lead.

Done the osteo many times, one of them screwed my hip up and I got excruciating Sciatica . Had to go to specialist.I find exercise stretches each morning is best to at least keep it under control. All good now..( until next time)
