William Goldman's novelized screenplay of this movie is worth reading. If you're really interested there are usually a few copies for sale on the Internet. I read the book, which really follows the movie pretty close because it's an adaptation of the screenplay, several weeks before seeing the movie and it was, in my opinion, worth it. I read it in, maybe, three hours on a Saturday so it's a quick read.

Could someone please translate the conversation between the policeman and army officer? I'm guessing that "dos hombres" means two men from the officer's expression of disbelief, "WHAT? TWO MEN?" but that's all I get.

The policeman tells the army officer, "Bandidos Yanquis" ("Yankee bandits"). The officer is happy to hear that because no one has been able to catch up with them.

The translation between the Bolivian police chief and the Bolivian army captain is more like this: Army Captain: "Where are they?" Police Chief: "At the corner of the plaza." Army Captain: "How many men are there?" Police Chief: "Two men." Army Captain: "Two men?" Police Chief: "Captain please...." Army Captain: "Two?!" Police Chief: "They are Yankee bandits!" Army Captain: "Yankee bandits, huh?" Police Chief: "Yes, my captain." Army Captain (to the soldiers): "Sergeant Rico! Dismount twenty men and go with me and the lieutenant. Sergeant Ignaz! Take the rest of the men to the roof of the hotel and nearby buildings to cover the plaza and the area! Let's go!"

Not the way it ended it ended with butch and sundance trapped in a little hut by 5-7 policemen shootout through the night when the policemen entered the hut in the morning butch and sundance were dead it is believed butch shot sundance then killed himself but its a movie gotta take poetic license make it thrilling it wasnt

They were shot to death seconds after the credit rolled. The director showed us the following: Two buddys daydreaming in the face of certain despair, wounded and at the end of their rope. The director also showed us the hoplesness of the situation, the little shack surrounded by about 100 men, all aiming at the only exit. Then we see the two rushing out, guns in hand and the credits roll. They had no means of escape (horses were also dead/gone) and had no intention of gving up. Aka they were shot to death. Im sorry :(
