Now Mitchell Evans I would add another father and that was the late Pastor Timothy Wright. Most people today do not remember him as an organist. But when I got saved in 1978 Pastor Wright and Professor Heyward were the best organists at the time out of Brooklyn! Brooklyn has been blessed with such a rich heritage of talented artists some well known and others known locally. But it does make my heart glad to see Professor Heyward is still holding it down in musical praise unto the Lord!

OMG, hearing this type of playing just inspires corporate worship. The feel, the timekeeping, and Butch still gives space to the vocalists...impeccable.

Brooklyn sound all the way. RIP Melvin, and thanks to God, Melvin, Butch, and Mount Calvary FBH Church in Brooklyn for my way of playing.
That's that good old organ sound I remember from when I was a child. Not just a NY sound, they played like this in Texas too, I love it.

The song is called (stay in the race) written by butch heyward the gospel expositions of ny use to sing this in the 80s. they were a group of young singers butch put together in the 70s most of them were members of institutional cogic in brooklyn. I believe they were going to record this song on there 2nd album but they never recorded the 2nd album.
