thanks for sharing the history. this is what i would love to relive again from when i was young in OZ camp. I had hoped to enjoy in the UK but sadly it is a disappearing saga. :(

Butlins what can i say, holiday camp for working people, red coats, blue coats, the pig and whistle, kids tucked up in bed,early moning call [ good morning campers]carbolic soap, uncle Boko, the freezing out door pool, and kids crying when the week was up, to go back home to the depressing excistance of the 1950s.

cue the hovis music .. aye it wer bludy greet clacton walk along t'pier, walk to jaywick , walk inter toon ,all we did was bastad walk!
