Me and my partner have started going for cheap weekends once a year to get away from the kids and have drinks and parties and it’s given us so many good memories that don’t break the bank

If you book them far in advance, during the sales or use Tesco clubcard vouchers, these breaks can be an absolute steal. We book midweek breaks in Feb/March or Nov for under £50.

Hello I’ve haven’t checked for a While I’m normally on my other accounts SplashEditzVFX or Hand Dryers with splashy and I only tend to comment on butlins videos because I get interested in the dryers that they use as me and someone else has filmed the whole on Skegness and they had White heatstore Tornado selects with the Green triangle!

Hi Kari! Hope you're well & enjoying the sunshine? I'm thinking of booking a break to Minehead as feeling desperately nostalgic. I know the chairlift etc has been removed, but I can't seem to find out if the rapids are still going in the pool? Is it worth travelling all that way? I've found a pretty good mid-week deal in a few weeks time :) Thank you x

It's much bigger than Bognor, if I were to go again, I like the look of the bungalows. It's weird because it's familiar, but not at the same time. I wouldn't go for less than a week, purely because of the distance away from us.
@Hayley-dm2je4 ай бұрын
@@KarionTravelling Yes that's true. It's about 4 hours by train from Portsmouth & then an hour & 20 mins by bus too, so I'm not sure I can be 'bothered' to travel so long when I've already booked the winter wonderland break at Bognor this year :) The steam train looks fun though & the bungalows look cosy too :)
@KarionTravelling4 ай бұрын
I don't think Minehead has great links for public transport, especially the train. Have you been to Skegness? It's still on my wish list, but with so many great places to visit, it's hard to justify a long drive and the price in school holidays.

I’m thinking of going with my husband and our 2 year old for the first weekend in September. I’ll be 9 months pregnant. Do you think it would be suitable for the toddler and for me - meaning there’s enough for her to do without me running around after her?
@KarionTravelling2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the little fair and shows are great and I think you will all have a lovely time. It's great for letting them have a little independence but still being able to keep an eye on her. I would definitely pay a little extra and book somewhere close to the main complex, unless you like a lot of walking. 😊

If you're having trouble with focus, check there isn't a tiny spec of dirt behind the lense that the gopro is trying to focus on - I've had that before. Or as you said try different settings, I've been trying new things this year, some have worked some not so well - but if you don't try you won't know 😉

Most of the people I've spoken to film in 1080 or 4k, and 30 frames. I like 1080, because I've had issues with 4k causing major lag and a lot of people watch on their phones so 4k might not be that advantageous. 😊

Did u prefer minehead to the bognor one?
@KarionTravelling2 жыл бұрын
Ohhh that's hard, Bognor is my usual so it was nice to try somewhere different. Minehead is more spread out and I certainly felt that at the end of the day when we trekked back to our apartment. I think at Minehead everything is a little bigger, and I missed Bognor's compactness.

We booked a trip here at Minehead for 5 days and the conditions of the accommodations were horrendous, we had blood, faeces, mould and other stains over the bedding and pillows and the mattresses where badly stained. Broken window glass in the bedroom, mould in the bathroom and so on, food still left up the floor from previous guests, broken drawers in bedrooms, stains and drip marks up the walls, the list goes on. Got the cleaners back out to clean the day we came and they didn’t make a difference, we had to sleep their that night with are 4 children ( didn’t get no sleep ) called them again the next morning they changed the bedding ( not the mattresses ) but replaced them with more stained bedding and mould over the pillowcases. We asked for a refund because at this point we just wanted to go home, only to be told that if we waited awhile longer they would move us to 2 different apartments in 2 different locations and split our family up because the accommodation they offered was too small/ downsized/down graded than what we paid for, went and had a look because they practically made us and it they were just has dirty has the one we were in, we continued to ask for a refund and kept being told to wait, turns out it was because they were waiting so they could close and we would have to stay another night, after 5 hours of waiting around talking to a number of staff that were absolutely no help we decided to make the 3 hour journey home with our 4 children at 8 o’clock at night without a refund or even a sorry for that matter. Please avoid.

It sounds like you had an awful time and such a shame that your holiday was ruined. I've generally found their customer services to be pretty good, but I agree that some of the accommodation is in shocking condition. We're hoping to stay in one of the newly refurbed apartments when we return to see if they are any better now. Fingers crossed
