Butte Creek 700cfs - Oregon Whitewater Kayaking

1/21/16: Put in below the tight gorge rapid at the Boy Scout Camp and took out above Scott's Mills Falls. River level was good @ 700cfs, this was a really fun class 3/4 creek! Thanks to Thomas Imes for the rescue at Knuckle Buster :)

Glad you liked the video zstevo420, it's only my second one and I had a lot of fun making it. You're right, if I had taken a few active strokes at the end of that rapid (knuckle buster) I could totally have avoided that sideways semi-pin event! Would love to do some paddling in Scotland someday 😀

It only flows in the rainy season, this year that was November through April. Got up there twice this winter, good times!

I do like to show some of my screw ups on the river, I think it's a good lesson for others and myself of what not do in a given situation, and look for things to improve in the future. You're right you do have to challenge yourself in order to get better, and a pool drop creek like this is a good place to do that for intermediate paddlers without too harsh of consequences...
