I love this. I have over 15 years of experience in construction and yes there are things that I would have done differently but that comes with experience. I am tired of the elitism and gatekeeping that people have in the industry. This man just built himself and incredible and functional workspace and thats the point. He had a problem, he sought out his own solutions and did it with his own two hands. I applaud you and don't let my own comment of 15 years or anybody elses comment on how long they've been doing this for sway you in any way... I know people with more experience than even myself who could not do the job you just did. Cheers and looking forward to your other builds :)

I learned many weird stuff and for example I was so happy learning how to hit a key on the piano, I was smiling when I hit the wrong note on a small little kids song,.. but after 50 hours and got way more complex music going on, hitting the wrong note would upset me so bad, I would be so negative... so I relate to you in a way,.. @@NerdWithADHD fun fact, you have sections of your sleep cycle that have you in a pseudo-awake session. During this time, you will sometimes get up and go to the bathroom in this state; otherwise, you simply lay there. Your brain, after this session, will often not form the memory of this session or discard it. If you encounter danger or unusual circumstances (breaking glass, loud noise, etc.), your brain will awaken you to combat the threat. It will also wake you up if it feels like it's being stared at. If you hear a noise enough, the brain will begin to ignore it. An example of this is sleeping through machine gun fire that happens weekly, but awakening to footsteps on your front porch while its quiet (if this makes sense). I'm parroting this from my psychology teacher, who got the info from a book.

Hi, I loved the office idea, those tuff triangles corner here is how you can find it (A)2+(B)2=(C)2. the "C" square is like the whole area of the triangle. This is how you solved it (A) multiply (A) you multiply the Height of the Triangle twice, then do the same with the base of it. Once you get both of the sums when you multiply them, you have to add them. Now divide the sum by two, which will be your "Area of the triangle." HINT: The (A) and (B) just substitute the Height and the based of the triangle. There you go I hope I have been a help to you.

Amazing! The creativity, the problem-solving, the final result - excellent! Making mistakes is how we learn. If people are afraid of mistakes, they should just stay in bed all day. The price sounds expensive, but hiring someone would have been at least 4x that (and "experts" probably would have told you it could not be done), and it's a heck of a lot cheaper than rent! Just add a little alarm that goes off every 15 minutes or so to keep you from falling asleep, and you have the perfect set up🤣

At 23:12 yes the math is correct! I’m studying engineering and have had to deal with lots of math problems as you can imagine. But not sure about the cutting the miters bit because I do math and not woodwork 😂 but in all seriousness what chatgpt gave you was the top angle you would need for the triangle with the way you position it in the build and the other two angles. The top one is that 93.4 and the bottom 2 are both 43.3 roughly. That should be all good, I think where you might have went wrong is by making a base part, which you end up ditching. The angles it gives you are the side of the triangle TO the base (or the floor of the room), so if you were to make another base for the stand both angles on the end would need to be 90 - 43.4, or 46.6 on both sides. Those are my thoughts, hope they made sense, love the channel!
@manmadecrafts
@manmadecrafts Ай бұрын

@JamesLaChance1
@JamesLaChance1 Ай бұрын
@@manmadecrafts In the future if you're doing this just google "SSS triangle calculator" (side-side-side) and input the three side lengths and it'll give you the angles. Plugging inverse tan (228.6/238) into my phone calculator gives 43.8 instead of 43.3 but other than that weird mistake yeah the math's right. That's assuming the inputted numbers are correct and that 228.6 is the distance from your kneepit to the platform (the height of the triangle you're trying to make) and 238 is half the distance from your butt to your ankle (butt to ankle being the base of the triangle you're trying to make). The miter information it gave at the end is nonsense though, chap gpt didn't understand that bit. You talk later in the video about dividing an angle in half when cutting two pieces so that together they join to make the whole angle; that's all you needed here. So if you took the 43.3 for the two bottom angles and 93.4 for the top angle and divided them in half when making the cuts (21.65 and 46.7) it would've worked but been a tiny bit off because of the math mistake mentioned in the beginning.

I swear I made this comment before the end of the video at the point where he was making the door. Then he made the same reference in the end. Lol.

The best teacher is failure and mistakes. That is how we grow, that is how we learn. Thank you for sharing all of that. It helps those of us who are at the same level, it helps us see how you worked around it. I love see others failures because it reminds me that they do happen even for those better than us. I always tell my kid, learn form your mistakes, those who make fun of you for them aren't trying enough or even trying at all. Mistakes happen, learn and grow with them.

I see so many people hating on this build but hey man, he just wanted to share it to you guys about something he should be proud of. Mistakes may occur but its a good stepping stone as to someone who is relatively new to something. Keep learning Joey!

I’m a 21 years old and my grandpa use to do wood working, he had a shop with all those awesome tools and saw tables and it was always something I found interesting. Now that I’m getting older and having enough money to have my own place soon I wanted to start doing DIY projects and this video really inspired me to do so. I thought only professional contractors with years of experience could do projects like this but I see it’s just about dedication. Great video!

Amazing video and amazing final product! Unfortunately, the math isn't that complex though... We learned SOH CAH TOA in 9th grade. I'd certainly recommend trying to learn the trig functions if you're going to be using them more frequently. I definitely understand that its more complicated in 3 dimensions, but good foundational knowledge definitely helps. The other thing I'd recommend is looking for an online tool somewhere. You might be able to find a calculator that perfectly suits your needs.
