I'm intimidated by cooking Indian food but this looks very do-able. And thanks for the tip on peeling ginger with a spoon!

Dude. I've made a couple attempts at butter chicken, and this one is head and shoulders better than any recipe I've tried so far! Thanks Cecil!

I find it amusing that a show labeled as 'season liberally' is avoiding spiciness, lol. Love the technique lessons Cecil!

The other ginger trick I love is just freezing it. Don't even bother peeling it, once it's frozen you can grate it super easy. I've never really done a comparison to see how much it mutes the flavour.

Thanks Cecil. Love the way you demonstrate the how of all the cutting and dicing, something sadly missing from all other cooking shows.

Yessss. The naan episode made me crave butter chicken. Looks like it takes a fair bit of work, but worth it for such a good dish. And the leftovers 🤩😋

The cilantro roots are tasty too, which is why they often include them. Nice job showing a great dish. I'm going to make this, but vegan with tofu, coconut cream and vegan butter.

OK, I need to do an ingredient shop, that looked amazing 🤤 I love indian food, but am often too intimidated to attempt it, that looked v-doable!

I'm a big wimp with spice but not ad much as I used to be. I know my daughter will say she likes it but struggle lol but I'm making it anyway. . . The only thing stopping me from making this is now the waether and making it to the grocery store.

How did I not know how to peel ginger? Haha I was the person using a peeler or just cutting chunks off.

Cecil is clearly smarter than me and thinks to wear gloves so that there’s no risk of touching your eyes with Serrano or ginger fingers 😂

Man this looks great, never had butter chicken before, not a huge fan of Indian food, but this looks good, I like the way you peeled with a spoon and grated the ginger on a microphone, I like to do garlic on there usually, much easier then trying to mince it with a knife
@SeasonLiberally Жыл бұрын
Yep, great way to get really fine garlic in on a microplane.

Hey Cecil, I went to a baking and pastry school but I did take some savory classes, I have worked in kitchens as well, I have noticed, I was wondering do you find that most chefs prefer a chicken thigh as their favorite chicken cut? I certainly do, it's the most flavorful (other then the neck which I love) and usually the cheapest, which is baffling, it makes no sense to me but I like it, the pros secret I guess
@SeasonLiberally Жыл бұрын
Yeah, thighs are easier to cook, more flavorful, and can be cooked fast or slow. It's like chicken superfood. Don't tell anyone!

Do you grind your own garam masala? I didn't see any turmeric is that in the masala blend?
@SeasonLiberally Жыл бұрын
I didn’t this time. I’ve made spice blends before but I use this stuff a lot.

Do you think disposable gloves are useful for home cooks?
@SeasonLiberally Жыл бұрын
It’s nice to have a box for certain tasks. Or for if you get a cut or something on your hand. I wear them on camera but rarely off camera.

@@SeasonLiberally Once you accidentally rub your eye right after you cut jalapeños, you'll always wear gloves when cutting peppers.
