When you think about it, Chara and Asriel's story is pretty sad and dark. These characters definitely went through a lot. The art looks amazing and I love the way you drew a crown of buttercups!

@@_sillycat.png_ in the world of undertale, there are two races, humans and monsters. one day there was a war between the two races. humans won, so the monsters were banished underground. the only way to escape the underground is to break the barrier between the underground and the surface. if i remember, the barrier can be passed through by a monster who has absorbed a human soul, and broken by the power of 7 human souls. years after the war, Chara fell into the underground. they called out for help, and the prince, asriel, came to help them (asriel and Chara are both children, btw. we also don't know Chara's gender so chara is referred to as "they"). the king and queen decided to let Chara live with them, and treated Chara as a child of their own. over a long time, Chara and asriel grew very close. one day, Chara had a plan to save monsters. chara poisoned themself with buttercup flowers so they would die. chara wanted asriel to absorb their soul and go to the surface, collect 6 more human souls, and save the monsters with his newfound power (this isn't said in the game, but there is really solid evidence that this is what happened). chara's dying wish was to see the flowers from their village, so after asriel absorbed chara's soul, he brought them to their village. the humans in Chara's village saw asriel holding the corpse, and thought that he had killed Chara. because of this, they attacked him with everything they had. asriel stumbled back underground, and then died. it's a pretty sad and dark story, especially since they were only little kids. also, it's been a while since i have played undertale, so this is just what i remember

@@floofysooshi2999 yee i guess i see what you mean! but imo, chara is still their own person, but they just happen to be represented negatively by the fandomout of the way they *remind* frisk/the player of the sins they've already made - this does not necessarily mean that chara is their sins incarnate. chara is more of a representation of frisk/the player's conscience than sins, with narrations that start off friendly/witty at first, but if the player insists on killing, this conscience gets corrupted. chara is not evil by nature and serves as their own entity with their own personality, but their reactions and narration rely entirely on the player's decision: they do not invoke many decisions to sin until frisk has already proven to go too far and needs a lesson to help them realize their decisions come with consequences
