It's a good initiative, but I Don't know if am thinking right , but colour of butterflies is gift from nature to protect itself from its predator n mainly acts like camaflouge , but these human tag stickers?not sure if it serves the purpose...jus a thought maybe i m wrong...

The average lifespan of a butterfly is around 30 days and we are tagging them say in October to see whether they come back to eastern ghats in April !! How does this work ? Please reply

@@bracketclose i am confused that's why i am asking it from the hindu directly. I hope they answer it. I googled the avg life span of a butterfly and even if it is say maybe 2-3 months even then from oct to April the time is around 7 months !! How can a single butterfly survive for so long to come back and to the eastern ghats and therefore the reduction in number is evident. Also if people are tagging at both places let's say at western and eastern ghats both and in October and Apr both then maybe they are counting net net butterfly (emigrants and immigrants into consideration) at a place. Then maybe this works.

What was the outcome of the tagging? 1) Did we find how long they live ? like tagged on day 1 and found on day 60 - means survived 60 days. 2) 2 Lakh were tagged as per this video, how many tagged butterflies were found again ?
