You are so talented! This is gorgeous. I want to try the ombré effect with gels 🤗 but the butterfly art is above my mani skill level 😆

Awww! This Butterfly design is so cute!🤩 I have a question, how do you clean your nail art brushes after dipping them in gel nail polish?
@caramellogram2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching 😊 I usually soak a cotton pad with rubbing alcohol and use that to wipe off my brush. I think in my "Tie Dye Nails with Gel Polish", I show how I clean off my brushes. Also like to use brushes that have a cap in case I don't clean off ALL the gel so it doesn't cure on the bristles

Is there a reason not to use a sponge to make the ombré effect? Sorry, new to gel polishes.
@caramellogram4 жыл бұрын
I actually haven't tried using a sponge for gel gradients... I just felt that the sponge soaks up quite a bit, whereas the brush doesn't soak up as much. And because I can manipulate the gel as much as I want before curing, I can spend a lot of time moving it around and blending it with the brush before I set it under the light. I've tried to use the same brush for gradients with regular nail polish, but the polish just dried too fast for me to get a good blend with the brush.

@@caramellogram I wonder if a white makeup wedge would absorb that much... I feel an experiment in my future. 😜 How do you clean your tools when working with gels?
@caramellogram4 жыл бұрын
yeah, now I'm super curious too! And for clean up, I take a cotton round, soak it in some rubbing alcohol, and then I wipe my brush against it a few times until I cannot see anymore colour rub onto the cotton. And preferably, I like to use brushes that have a cap when using gels because I can just cap it on after I clean it and not be too worried about any gel curing onto the brush in case I missed a bit

@@caramellogram Well... brushes with lids... a bit out of my price range atm. 😜 Sounds fancy. 😉 I really am thrilled you’re in Canada. 🇨🇦💅🏻 rock!

There are some great options out there! I love my NailStuff.ca brushes and I only recently discovered that the handle doubles as a cap! Before I discovered that, I was using some other affordable brushes from Born Pretty Store that have a cap! I have discount codes for both those places above, but brushes without caps also work just as well, as long as you remember to clean them right after you use them 😊
