Learn Spanish: 15 Past Tense Irregular Verbs

In this video I will teach you the Spanish preterit, pretérito, or past simple, pasado simple, of some of the most important Spanish verbs. Some of the verbs I will teach you in past tense are: “ser” & “estar” - “to be”; “ir” - “to go”; “saber” - “to know”; “poner” - “to come” or “to put”; “caber” - “to fit”; “poder” - “can”; and many more. Do you know how important these verbs are? Can you even imagine how important these verbs are in the past tense? I would say… very, very important. The reason I am saying this is easy, we really spend a lot of our time talking about the past, because we know it, it is ordered, and often we find ourselves talking about what we did yesterday, last month, last year, and so on. The past tense enables us to talk about events, actions, emotions, stories, and all that happened sometime in the past, sometimes at a particular specific point that we can set in our life timeline, sometimes at many points in the past. This video will help you reach a huge goal of learning the past - learning the regular verbs in the past, and learning the irregular verbs in the past. This is one of the best videos by Ana. In addition to being educational as all other Ana's videos, she was as enthusiastic, dedicated, energetic, cheerful, and radiant in the last minute as she was in the first minute. Who would be excited to come to watch a video that talks about the past tense of irregular verbs? I was going to spend about 18 minutes of my time to learn a little before my work. I ended up watching the whole thing and taking notes and having fun at the same time. It's time well spent because, como Ana dijo, I can talk about the past better now. Ana, you did a wonderfully superb job!

Ana, thanks for this lesson. As a starter for those learning English you only need to know the past tense of one verb that is 'to do' and with that you could describe events in the simple past without ever knowing the past tense of that particular verb. For example the past of 'to do' is 'did' so if I want to describe an action like eating in the past it goes like: I did eat yesterday. He did eat yesterday, he did go to school this morning, he did speak at the church etc. The HIZO changing its sound is more like French verbs changing or adding a letter so as to be consistent with the sound.
