I car camp in my RAV4 and I use a crib mattress. I had a spare one from when the grandkids come to visit and it fits perfect when I fold down the larger of the 2 back seats. I use a flat rectangle shaped duffle bag (with clothes in it) at the foot of the bed to make it long enough. Very comfortable, firm (good for my back), and a little extra storage!

I enjoyed your video very much. We just bought the Pacifica van. We are planning a trip cross country to explore for about a month. Your set up is simple. I am thinking of a futon since we have two people and it will be only a month long trip. We still can eat out and camp out whenever. I think it is fun to have freedom if we need to park and enjoy the out door or sleep at the rest stop knowing we have everything.. thanks for sharing. I just turned 70 in April. Still very active myself. I will likely be the full-time driver. Happy Holidays!

Evelyn not only has lots of space for sitting in front of the bed, but also for storage in easy to access containers and shelves! Love all the different, inexpensive, zippered baggies that fit so well into the various drawers and bins. This camping home was well thought out and fitted just for her. I think she could do long term travelling and be really comfy.😊🇨🇦✝️

Evelyn, you've done a Beautiful job setting up your van !!!! Every inch is used perfectly. I love the vanity and sink, you can make good use of the counter, cooking, washing up before bed and when you get up, you could set your coffee there if the weather isn't nice out. I never would have thought to use a crib mattress, I am 5 ft 1 in and am wondering if I would fit, I think I might. You are an inspiration for all of us ladies getting up in years, I love that you are so brave and are adventuring out, going to meet ups and camping. Love, love, love her setup. I have same van and I also sleep side to side, 5'1in. I want to get that dresser👍. I put my cammping chair same way. Need a fridge also, will look into that a pic oil one. I watch your adventures all the time. Got Teary in one where you mentioned you wouldn't see the beautiful views sitting at home in your recliner. I'm ready to go, fingers crossed! Horse pellets! I cannot praise their ability to absorb odors and moisture! I'm not a van lifer but I care for a boomer recovering from a hip replacement and the commode bags and pads are great, but adding the pellets was an absolute game changer especially with the heat we have had this summer! Love this build, great stuff.
