When you get gas, take your keys and phone with you and lock the doors while pumpimg. Mini Van Lee just told of robbers that will jump in your driver's seat and scream that YOU were trying to steal the car! Then drive away in your car! Criminals are everywhere and can be sweet and friendly...at first. I worked retail for a long time and dealt with lots of thieves. You cant tell by looking st them, but trust your spidey sense!

I would get a hybrid minivan. You can run heat or ac for days with the engine coming on a couple of minutes sn hour to recharge battery. Would add a tv, porta potty or cassette toilet. Sink, micgowave

Excellent advice throughout. Thank you ! One thing to add I take pictures and send them immediately to a family member or friend with a brief text that something seems off. That way the info is out incase something were to happen and my phone disappears.

For four years, I worked out of my vehicle. Hiking cross country often times through the brush. Attaching your keys to your body in someway is most important having a habit of never locking the door without having your keys in your hand or knowing where they are and not just thinking you know where they are. I have a clip, not a carabiner because those can be brushed against and loosened that I attached to a belt loop and I put the keys in my pocket. A walking stick is also a very useful tool, both against aggressive dogs, and wild creatures and wild humans. I live alone and I keep an ax and Pointy wire shears next to my bed.

I'm tossing between a 2022 Pacifica with 71K and a 2015 Sienna with 95k. Sounds like you would vote for the Pacifica? no moon roof, though. But I'd like to put a roof tent on top for my grandkids.

Love Amanda and have followed her channel for years. She is so self resilient and it’s so inspiring for solo female travelers. If you are thinking about vanlife it’s worth following her channel as she stays in some gorgeous forest camps and her storytelling and filming is amazing but as a dog owner & lover her dedication to Frank is beautiful to watch.
