From what I’ve heard, before each episode of Emeril Live, members of the crew would offer complimentary wine and beer to the adults in the audience (candy and soda for the children) and according to a friend of my dad who went to a taping, you could have as much as you wanted before the cameras began filming. So the alcohol may explain the audience’s overzealous behavior

I've always heard that before Emeril Live tapings, the audience could come early and drink as much complimentary wine as they wanted. So that might have something to do with how ridiculous they used to act
