Pretty concise and great for a beginner. I would've liked to have seen how you opened the neckline towards the end. Cheers tho!

Thanks Miguel, sorry I missed the undo bit at the end. All you do is unfasten the top button or two, using the button tools.

Hint: If you set Layer to 1 in the Property Editor on the side of you want to be on top, it'll automatically arrange itself on the outside without you having to pull it to keep it from clipping.

Hi Hannah. I think the wind was my little fan. It's been so long over here in the UK, I needed something while recording. The backdrop on my camera is a render from one of my 3d sets :)

thanks for some create tutorials ive just started learning and ive hit a problem i hope you can help? at 12:33 you start to use the fold tool, when you click on the fold tool you get to see seam lines in the 3d view then you click on the seam to fold over the collar... my problem is that i do not get to see any seem lines so i cant click on the seam to make the collar fold. (if i could show you a picture i would) Thank you. PS. Show 3D Seamlines is enabled *****Update***** started a new design when i reached the part at 12:11Off Set Patten Outline... i created the extended collar and again the fold line does not show.... Then i noticed that in your tut the option Create Internal Line was ticked mine was not.. so after ticking mine all went ok.. again thank you very much for your tuts...

Hello first of all thank you for this great video. I'm trying to adjust the collar right now..unfortunately your webcam is in front of it at the moment and I can't find the section. What I mean is at 10: 57 on your video. I can't find the list you can open 🤔
@3dmegaverseJohn2 жыл бұрын
AH sorry about that. In that part I'm changing the material preset for the Material to Fusible Rigid. That makes that collar piece a little stiffer, so it doesn't collapse under it's own weight. Hope that helps.

How do you export the buttonholes? When I export my model everything works fine except the button holes are missing
@3dmegaverseJohn2 жыл бұрын
The buttons are baked into the texture, go to the UV room and use the button at the top to export the textures. Hope that helps.

my patterns are not moving in the 3D view when I move them in 2D any ideas?
@3dmegaverseJohn Жыл бұрын
As far as I know moving a pattern in the 2D view doesn't move it in the 3D view. The only time that matters is when you draw the pattern in 2D, depending on where you draw in 2d in relation to the avatar silhouette, MD will decide where to place the pattern in the 3D view.
@Sebastian-lp7lw Жыл бұрын
@@3dmegaverseJohn yeah that’s what I mean it won’t be in the correct place when I draw or if I copy and paste a shape it just pastes on top of the fabric I’m trying to copy
@3dmegaverseJohn Жыл бұрын
@@Sebastian-lp7lw If you copy and paste it to the same place in 2D, it will cover the original in 3d. If you paste it elsewhere it will not completely overlap your original. That being said even though you it pastes over the original in 3d, you can still move it. As it is selected the moment you paste. Or you could use arrangement points to move it away from your original.

And many other things as well, in terms of correct sewing it's all done wrong. I sew and make patterns, and most of KZbinrs teaching MD do it all in a very amateurish way, as a result the clothing doesn't sit very well and looks unrealistic. Honestly it's always better to use basic professionally done patterns and then change them and fit them to the model. And of course learn at least some basic clothes modeling concepts and sewing operations. Other than that, I found this tutorial useful to learn MD tools and interface.
