This is a perfect tutorial; thank you so much! I won`t buy the pattern, because i don`t wear shirts anymore, but i`m using your tutorial to sew a lay-flat-v-neck-collar linen long-shirt with 3/4 sleeves. I`m just using my old ones and your and other tutorials to guide me. But if you make a pattern for such a shirt, i believe i would buy it; i plan to sew more of these shirts for the hot days that grow in numbers every year... I`m using the pattern for a quilted jacket for the pieces, so not perfect. And especially if it came with a video like this; so good for a hopeless beginner like me!. But it would have to include plus size pattern though. 👍👌🙂

This video is amazing thank you so much for taking time to make it. It's an art to watch you work. My next challenge is this blouse and you make it look doable. I'm just working through your polo shirt video and I'm so pleased with how my very first button placket has turned out. Really appreciate all your videos and I'm excited to see more - trousers with zips 😬

Hello and thanks for the very clear and concise video. I’m no longer hesitant to make button down shirts. Please consider making more women garments. I.e. pants with elastic, blazers, and garments with lining. Thank you!! 😊

I`m making a linen long-shirt from this video. Made a huge mistake thow; since i use linen and not cotton, i decided i don`t need the interfacing on the cuffs. I didn`t realize that the folding of the interfacing when ironing created a few millimeters of fold of the front fabric. so when i had sewn the cuffs on and was folding in the upper seam; i`m still left with a raw edge, instead of the perfectly neat edge in the video. Not sure what to do; try to pull inn the zerging seam maybe; i fear that will be too small and be too thick to look pretty. Or i have to start over... 😞

Hi!! Let's see if I can help you a little bit with that: The first thing that comes to my mind is to baste the remaining seam allowance to the inside and follow the procedure shown in the video, mimicking what I did with the interfacing. By folding the seam allowance (1 cm) to the inside and securing it with a hand baste, the result should be similar to mine.

In addition, once basted, topstitch as I did and then remove the basting stitches.

@@PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE Yes. i thought about it and i think that if i rip the stitches and take the cuff-pieces apart i can get it right. Instead of shifting the pieces before sewing them together like you do; i simply iron down the top side of one of the pieces, so that it will be a nice end of the lower piece when turned and sewed. I think it will still be the same size. But if it ends up beeing slimmer, that`s ok, since it`s a long-shirt and not a regular shirt anyway. The shirts i used for model has slimmer cuffs. I`m feeling confident again now; thank you. 🙂

This is a Button UP shirt, not a button down. 😊
