@@margimfolo447 Hi! In this design, the front facing is part of the front piece. For this reason, it is basically folded to the inside, forming the edge of the front pieces.

Thank you for your instructional video. I have struggled along with Simplicity Pattern #4760 for years and I must say that some of the shirts that I made came out ok. But your way of putting it all together has Simplicity beat by a mile. I am looking forward to using your easy and understandable method. Again, Thanks.

Thank you so much for this way of sewing a camp shirt. Every pattern seems to have the same instructions and they are confusing because their method is complicated, and you can't figure it out by looking at the illustrations. Also, all the videos I looked at in KZbin had the same method of sewing a camp shirt. I even purchased a video that ended up having the same method which was more complicated, and you even had to sew by hand at some point. However, your video was perfection, and the final product looks great. Although some viewers prefer to skip the ironing, I do not. Ironing is key to getting a great outcome in sewing and we can skip the ironing part if we do not want to view it, but it is a good reminder for beginners if you keep it as part of the video. As a person with a disability, I thank you for making my sewing easier and enjoyable.

Thank you for this fantastic tutorial. It is much appreciated! Clear, showing all there is to know, and taking the time to show it. Very helpful. Personally I would have enjoyed it more if the process was narrated, instead of accompanied by a generic piece of music - but that does not take anything away of the value of the tutorial ;).

I love this pattern/video. I've made two shirts, and I know I'll make so many more. Only thing is, I feel like this video would be SOOO much more efficient if you addressed the compulsion to iron 😐 My god, it's 99% of this video! Still, great, great everything. I recommend your patterns to everyone on r/sewing. Actually thinking about creating a subreddit specifically with these easy-to-follow, layman patterns--yours being the top post. Just..so much ironing.

You have to press in between each step after you sew. It allows for crisp knife edges and sets all the stitches in place. It makes all the difference. Your results will be that much more professional if you press at the end of each step

I love this tutorial and am really tempted to buy the pattern and try this. I am concerned though as I do not own a serger. Would I be able to complete the shirt without one?
@PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for your comment! Yes, you can use a zig-zag stitch on the raw edges of the fabric (one in one out) to overcast all pieces. This way, you'd be replacing the serger.

I always struggle with getting the final topstitch that connects the collar to the neckline to look neat and lined up on the backside since its going all the way through. The topstitch always looks nice but then I flip my garment over and its all wonky and not even with the ditch :( I’ve tried making sure I pull the back piece tight as I sew but can’t seem to figure it out

I don’t understand from 38:20 at all😩I’ve changed the speed to x0.25 and watched 30 times but I’m so lost. It’s hard to see right side and wrong side with this fabric too. Please someone explain😭
@PDFPATTERNSBOUTIQUE Жыл бұрын
Hi! Don't worry; I can assist you. From that minute on (38:20), I'm sewing an "enclosed joke". This means that both the back seam (joke & back piece) and the shoulder seams won't be visible from the inside. The joke (two pieces) and back piece (one piece) are sewn together already, so what I'm actually doing after that is to enclose both shoulder seams. If this step seems too complicated (is is actually advanced sewing), you may simply skip it and sew both shoulder as you would normally do (not enclosed). To do this, you'll need to face right sides like this; "Front piece right side facing Joke's right sides" (there are two layers here as there are two jokes). I do have a video which will help you with this; Button-Up Shirt for Women: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHqrh6B4gct_oMU (Shoulder seam: 22:14). Feel free to contact me back with any questions.
