I remember me and my bro buttoning car door panels in the late 70’s 😂 to look like this. Dralon fabric. We done a Corsair and a couple of mark 2 cortina’s and a mark 1 transit 😂😂. We probably thought it looked great. It probably didn’t. Good skills 👍

We also used foam rubber to get the sunken button look 😂😂

@@craighughesupholsteryoffic5077 tell me now 😂 😂. It was all the rage back then. Great fun. Also fur lined 🤦♂️

Coincidentally, I thought of you on Sunday as I was working on replacing the center buttons on a ruched estate sale pillow. I managed to get them attached (front and back) but wished I'd had your skill, as I don't know how sturdy my effort will be!

Definitely NOT a 200 year old chair. C1850 at the earliest. Hard to tell without seeing more of it but the curves are a Victorian feature.

@oltedders the American client will not be pleased to hear that. She recently purchased it from a well-known London auction house and was told c.1820s. She is having the rest upholstered in the UK by another upholsterer and then shipping to the USA.

@craighughesupholsteryoffic5077 Your expertise will prevent any disappointment, I'm sure. Don't tell her what I said, and we'll be in the clear.
