Hi Tim, it's not the first time i'm coming to you for help. And because you already did before, i'm shure you'll know the answer to my question this time too. Already big thanks for looking into my problem! So: Sending midi messages to XY controls is easy with touchOSC as you can send x values over cc20 and Y values over CC21. But this time i'm trying to control my XY with an OSC message and the receiving address in the VST (Reaktor "travelizer" by Native instruments) only permits 1 receiving addres for both X and Y values. Also the trick that you showed with midi and OSC learn (first send X values and learn them, and then Y values and learn them)doesn't work. So this stime i'm affraid i'm really stuck ;-).... thanks again for your advice!

Thanks for the tutorials! Actually for mapping the XY pad, there is no need to disable the send. It's quicker if you just leave the marker at the 0,0 (left corner) and when it comes to mapping, just move it to the side, either left or bottom. That way it will have reached the limit of the one axis and just move the other one you want to map.

Great point! That can be a good way to get around for folks. I'd say if people do end up getting crossed signals to turn it off then try that way, but you're totally right!

You have awesome tutorials Tim! Really appreciate the time uou take to do these. I did have one question about Radar controllers in Touch OSC. Is the center the 0 axis or the middle velocity like 64? It confuses me how they calculate the y and x values since it’s like a joystick Thanks Tim!

Thanks for checking out the channel! Good question. I think that would depend on how you set up your message as well as the values of the Radar. If you look at it default and check the messages you can see it's at 0 in the middle, but the number data output changes depending on the direction you go.

Yes, there is a connections section for each object on the right side of the UI. You can set connections for up to 5 devices in the settings and then on each object you can control which connection it sends to.

Hi, is there a way to customize the scale for the radio buttons? Let’s say I have 3 buttons and I want: -button 1: values “0-30” -button 2: values “31-60” -button 3: values “61-127” I can only figure out how to evenly spread the values of “0-127” with the scale. But I need specific values for each button. And I need the exclusivity of the radio buttons or else I could’ve done this with regular buttons :/ Kinda stuck on this!

I don't understand what is the use of radio buttons. Cannot get any informations from it. Cannot get its index into script for other purposes. Each time I try tu use radio buttons or grid buttons in touch OSC I hit a wall. Are there really any use of those buttons or is that a relic of old Touch OSC buttons ? Even for something as simple as "if radio_button index == 1, then do something" seems impossible to implement.

You're looking to control MIDI CC1 with a fader? Ya you should be able to follow the steps I did in this video and the earlier one to add a message to your fader and then send to your DAW. What DAW are you using?

This is EXACTLY what I need and have been looking for to control 2 laser projectors, one via Reaper controlling my Teensy Laser Synth; another via LaserShow Xpress, an OSC savvy DAW for creating animated graphics laser imagery. The 2D touch pad(s) are what I've been wanting as a Master Touchscreen controller for RGB color/intensity, XY size/symmetry, & image positions. Perfect! Q: Can TouchOSC have 'pages' or windows for each of the above? Thanks so much for producing this excellent tutorial series, Tim. 🙏🙏🙏

Sure so you want to control the toggle stage of button 1 with button 2. I recommend using a Local Message. You can add that to button 2 to impact button 1 (add more local messages for each extra button), then have the message change the state of button 1. 👍

When assigning MIDI parameters to a radio button with Value selected, you get some strange behavior. The first number is the Starting value, The second number will be the value of the second button. All subsequent values will add the _difference_ between the first number and the second. So set 1 and 11, you get 1, 11, 21, 31... Very strange. So the 1 and 2 you set for the CC number will send CC1, then CC2, CC3, CC4... When set to Property, the sent value is always the first number, and the second number doesn't matter. Also, I don't have an engraver, much less any engraving software...

You can add a button, then under that object's options, change from momentary to toggle release or toggle press, depending on what you're doing.

Thanks for the question! Do you have a MIDI message enabled on the fader or button? Also how are you checking if it's sending? Are you using Protocol?

@@TimCorpus All those were enabled and I was trying to bind the button to an action but it showed the button name (i.e. button1 or fader1) and not the midi controller number. Then I installed protokol and saw it was receiving midi messages. Somehow, touchosc bridge was available now as a midi input and it worked. I don't know if I did something right or by accident, but it works now. Thank you!

Hey John, I think what you're looking for is "Default Pull" under "values". If you set it to 20, it's a slow fade down; if you set it higher, it's a fast response.
