Isn't LP just phenominal? Her vocal control while she swoops and climbs and belts and whispers is extraordinary. She is a unique bluesy, jazzy, poppy one of a kind.
@abbyedsall6619 Жыл бұрын
Her parents were opera singers and she writes her own original songs too so my thoughts are: she had a unique voice and a unique opportunity to use her parent’s expertise to train it to be the absolute best. Not to say that she didn’t figure some stuff out for herself along the way, but knowing how breath and vocal chords work could only benefit her in this mastery (wizardry).

She also whistles like there is no tomorrow. Unique.

This was heavenly to watch! LP is both a singer and songwriter , having written for Cher, Rihanna, Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion and more. LP is absolutely phenomenal and her vibrato is part of what makes her uniquely so. Her mother was an opera singer. LP recalls a time when she was in the car with her mom and singing along to the radio and her mom turned the volume down and asked “ Is that You?!” She sang in choir and her vibrato carried even then. She’s from New York and sang in clubs there before moving to LA. After SXSW in 2006 there was a bidding war for her and she signed with DefJam. This performance was for an EP Into The Wild: Live From the East West studios. It is one of my favorite recordings. She’s very well known overseas and in South America. Unfortunately she has not been promoted well in the States and so she’s not as well known AS SHE SHOULD BE! . I just saw her do a show in Chicago before Lolla and she was just amazing. I would recommend anything Live. Some of her best known songs are Lost On You, When We’re High, Someday, Into The Wild, Strange, Switchblade, Levitator. My personal favorite is Forever For Now. Along with an amazing vibrato and vocal control LP is also known for her impressive whistling. I simply LOVE her. This was incredible to watch. Thank You 🙏

LP'S Mom was an opera singer,but died when LP eas a teenager. But o be honest LP admits in a video that covers her career for 20 yrs. that she take opera voice lessons and is trained , but she didn't want to sing opera. LP is also an extremely prolific songwriter for quite prominent singers like "The Back Street Boys,". She she was aloud kid so she sang alot. I believe having those strong wind-FILLED lungs are the trick. I saw LP years ago on I think it was a PBS Program like "Austin City Limits," with her famous ukele & i loved her style immediately. I too ,as a singer ,songwriter. guitar player myself & professional recording artist , but although I was discovered by Columbia Records/Sony Music,and quit a few top producers, but i DID NOT want a manager. I enjoyed doing gigs with top musicians in ll kinds of venues. My favorite singer - ANNIE LENNOX the Soul Sister from Aberdeen who ARETHA sang WITH & that says something. But I also love Joni Mitchell, LP, SINEAD O'Connor, NATALIE MERCHANT, BILLIE HOLIDAY (of course)and the late DOLORES O'RIORDON. May i recommend an addictive song by LP? " LOST ON YOU" LP IS LP!🎶💖

It's really strange. I live in northwestern Poland. Close to the German border. 6-7 years ago her "Lost on you" was literally everywhere. On the street, on the radio, in cars, in stores.... Everywhere for practically the whole summer.... The next songs were also heard, although not as much as "Lost on you".
