Kathmandu is big. Every facilities are there but no comparison to butwal area if we talk about roads, system, green, clean. Actually not butwal but outskirt of butwal is very well managed and nice.

Butwal is one of the rapidly growing cities of Nepal. It is a well shaped city agglomelated with Tilottama Bhairawaha Devdaha and Sainamaina, developing as a unit. It has an international airport, cricket and football grounds, university, etc. And very well planned infrastructures, with industries sufficient for the metro city. Although these areas are separate governing bodies, but they constitute to form a single city, second largest after Kathmandu. In comung 10 years it is likely to surpass Kathmandu with more to come.

Sir population of butwal is just approx 2 lakh. But here we comparing a city area which inludes butwal tilottama and bhairawha ....and in kathmandu we included cities like budhanilkantha, chandragiri, kathmandu etc....

Biratnagar dharan are too far ..approx 42 km ...it's approx 600 sq km ...if you include 600 sq km in butwal area then it will cover almost 95 perecent population of rupandehi district ime more than 10-11 lakh in 600 sq km... Butwal tilottama devdah bhairawha are continuous geography and continous market ... Butwal is the only submetropolitice city in this area ... Where in the greater birat ...there is one metro city , 2 sub metro cities and others are big municipalities .. and all these are 2 far n not continous ... People who live in ithari do not say they from dharan or people who live in dharan do not say they from biratnagar bcz these are very far from each other ....but people who live in tilottama , devdaha say they live in butwal bcz it's very near ..it's like inside of butwal ...for example people from kirtipur, budhanilkantha says they are from KTM city but officially they are not ....but practilly they from KTM city ..bcz kirtipur , budhanilkantha they very near to KTM metro city .... You are right bcz you talking about book facts ..but here they comparing cities practically ....n I think ithari dharan section comes in 3rd..I don't include biratnagar with ithari n dharan section bcz biratnagar is offside of these ..I mean far from there ... Practilly KTM is very big then obviously butwal then I guess pokhara or ithari dharan section ...

@@Nothing_836 yes I feel the same ..as per the census it has the population of approx 195 something ..I feel like it's less ... But it could be true also bcz of high cost of lands people moving to outskirt of butwal that is why other neighbour cities like tilottama n all are getting bigger ...but I do not believe in nepal's way of counting population ... They don't go to each n everyone's houses ...sometimes they include everyone who not even living in the city and sometimes they forget to include family members who living in the city ....so it's not accurate....

@@ddamase i felt the same and for some reason i don't think dhangadhi ghorahi should be kept higher since they have greater area i think cities should be ranked in terms of density just imagine if itahari and butwal had 200plus sq km area like that ghorahi dhangadhi then just imagine itahari nd butwal would have higher population

@@Nothing_836 ​ exactly ...thats my point too... same goes for pokhara and bharatpur ....to make a metro city they inlcuded 460 sq km ...they included many villages too .... bharatpur has the only population of 3.5 lakh after including 450 sq km and pokhara has the population of 5 lakh after includeing approx 465 sq km .... ithari i s developing very fast and i am sure this dharan ithari inruwa belt will develop very fast ..... even from the childchood we have heard of only ktm, butwal, dharan, pokhara and bharatpur ..... ktm , dharan, butwal, pokhara are oldest cities of nepal ...oldest municipalities of nepal ...other cities like dhangarhi, ghorahi, hetauda cant be compared to these cities ....

Bro check the census . Pokhara is a city of kaski district. Butwal tilottama bhairahawa are city of rupandehi district. Check latest 2078 census .

Butwal urban city is 2nd biggest after ktm ....you need to visit these cities before making decisions.... once you will visit butwal metropolitine area , you will be surprised "if this is the city of nepal?" and also you will need to understand what metropolitine area means actually?
