Since ancients mined metals, I guess they should have encountered dinosaur bones, and they might have created stories on the subject of say, titans, or dragons

Rather the ancients lived 900 years and if reptiles lived that long then they would be huge. How do you tell how old a crocodile is? By its length.

@@klujics123 perhaps their given age is the estimate of the age of the dinosaur bone they discovered, based on living reptiles size
