Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 and first half of this year with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?
@VanChuong-on2ghАй бұрын
Just ''buy the dip'' man. In the long term it will payoff. High interest rates usually mean lower stock prices, however investors should be cautious of the bull run, its best you connect with a well-qualified adviser to meet your growth goals and avoid blunde

The truth is that this is really not as difficult as many people presume it to be. It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. Absolutely! Wealth is made in bear markets. We aren’t in a bear market, but nibbling heavy red days has proven to be fruitful for me over 4 years of investing. I am at 2.25 mil. Biggest positions VOO, VTI, SCHD, VYM, and now looking to build up DRGO alongside finding quality value/growth stocks to buy. I got $48k divs last year in taxable divs. Q2 taxable divs this year was $17,388 this year. Don't sell when the market is down. Having a skilled CFA that puts the time in to do in-depth research can be invaluable in strategizing your portfolio.

In addition to the LEAPS, your selling calls (PMCC),,,can you talk about what to do if your call go in the money?
@AverageJoeInvestorАй бұрын
@@catchihandle1821 great question. In this specific context, I wouldn’t be selling short call options. I’m just holding the Leaps Contract for 1 year then rolling it. As to your specific question though, IF you purchase a LEAPS contract, sell covered calls and are DEEP ITM on a short call, I’d personally ROLL the call option out to a future date and hopefully up and away to safety. This MAY REQUIRE a NET DEBIT at times. Just my $0.02 though. THANK YOU for watching and for leaving your $0.02 in the comments! 👍😎

I was under the impression that LEAPS contracts were only 50% cheaper than just buying it. It probably depends on how far out the contract is and how in/at/out of the money you are. I kept waiting for you to say, "and now you can sell far out of the money covered calls." I definitely have to do more research before upgrading my Robinhood to allow LEAPs

At the end of the day where you turned 100 shares of Coca-Cola into 108 shares seems like the most valuable piece of information- proves how much your account is really growing irrespective of how much the stock price has gone up/down. Average Joe. Right now is likely not the time for leaps. Youve been pushing it hard. Here, is what I do, I'll give you more info if you want. I love leaps. BUT, I invest into the indexes like everyone else. Now, when there is a market downturn, I slowly sell off for a loss (to realize later), and purchase the furthest out leaps at the current just above the money leaps. 2018, 2020, 2023. It has worked great. I love your channel btw, but am in a different phase of my investing cycle. But we aren't too far apart 😊.

Otherwise, providing insurance for those who don't trust the long-term positive skew of the American economy seems as good a business as any.
