Got at 2005 V6 always parked outdoor. ZERO issues, 20 years now, runs smooth after taking a lot of abuse. These accords are rock solid

A 2003 Honda accord was my very first car, I inherited from my mom back when I graduated high school, it had about 200k miles on it at the time, I didn't take care of it, I barely changed the oil, I never changed the coolant or or transmission fluid , I fell asleep on the highway, hit the median and still drove it home, I did less than the bare minimum, mainly because i didn't know any better. And that car still kept going, by the time I got rid of it, it had 346000 miles on it and the engine and transmission were still relatively solid. Everything else was falling apart though, the guy I sold it to apparently took the engine out and put it in another accord and kept driving it.

LOL! I was like Caligula brutal on my first car and it was nowhere near as dependable as the Honda Accord 7th Gen. It was a 1973 Mercury Capri, LOL! It is just our nature when we are young to neglect things. The worst thing that could come out of that experience would be to learn nothing. And that's life, live and learn, grow and progress, What do you drive now?

Mine has 279k miles and still running excellent, 2.4 K24A and 5sp manual transmission. Doesn't burn oil, doesn't leak, no check eng. light and a recent compression test showed over 190# psi. When I drain the oil to change it it is still clean, the transmission has no grinds and shifts smooth as butter. After all the time I've owned it, it has proven to be the most reliable, comfortable riding, best power to economy ratio car I have ever owned. I will drive it till the wheels fall off put them back on and keep driving.

I had one for 3 years after someone owned it for 15 or so years. I fixed all the damage they did to the car and I still never spent more than 1k on it. Just watch the control arms(ball joint) and knuckles. Also a lot of people complain about trans issues but I never saw any I could get my 05 accord up to 125mph and it was the 4 cylinder. These are great cars

I currently own an 07 with 239k bought it last year at 227k…. I bought my first 2006 accord 4 yrs ago with 225k as a beater and boy was I wrong… my dumb ass ended up trading it for a motorcycle (dumbest thing I ever did) I learned that 200k in a Honda accord really means 50,000k and they just run , I love this car!!! the most solid ride I have ever had and this k24 motor I know I can just rely on… it’s just a solid car
@Rundark-

Yeah, that's barely broken in, LOL! You'll easily hit the 500k mark, just stay on top of the trans if it's an auto. When I was looking for mine it had to be a manual trans, I like row my boat. Mine is an '04 with 270k miles and like yours it runs excellent. Looks like you'll beat me to that coveted 500k mark, so congratulations in advance.

I had a 2003 accord LX with 500k miles, I replaced the ac compressor, power steering pump and lines, 2 alternators, 1 starter it was hard to get to, completely re did the suspension and brake system, water pump and 3 serpentine belts! It was an awesome vehicle automatic transmission! 2 fuel pumps. I sold it on September 2023 for $3k still got money for it! The only reason I sold it for a 2010 Camry LX with 105k miles at an unbelievable price $3500! I couldn't pass it up!

You did good, Honda makes the best engines but Toyota makes the best car overall because of their bulletproof auto transmissions. You'll get another 400k plus miles out of that Camry, and yeah, $3500 is a steal on that car. Got some horse trading skills, noice!

Around 2005/2006 was the era where Honda’s transmission debacle started to turn the page and they built reliable transmissions afterwards. Between 1998-2005 was the time where Honda did several trial/error with their transmissions but finally solved it. Lots of people aren’t aware that Honda is one of the only car brands that build their own transmissions where others get theirs supplied.

Engine and transmission running great. Maintenance done by the book from day one. Love the car, I’m keeping it. GREAT REVIEW on your part, on target 👍🏼😊

Got a 2004 accord in late 2023 and it is still going. Had to change de CV axles, front suspension and tires and soon will have to change the motor mounts. The AC is not bad for the year, it takes about 10 minutes to get cool inside btw i live in Florida. 160k miles and still rolling. Bought it for 3k and in 8 months have cost me around 800 including 4 new Godyear tires. I think if you are on a budget it is a great deal and if you like to work on cars even better. Does not matter if had experience or not it is easy an cheap to fix most of the problems. Happy happy with the Accord

we have a 2006 Accord EX (top of the line with V6 and Navigation) we bought it new in 2006. It's decently quick and gets good gas mileage and we are at 160K miles. Original A/C system, though I did have to charge it myself once with those cans a few years back. I have replaced the mounts myself. I've also replaced the starter at relatively low miles - 80,000 IIRC. I just changed the power steering pump this past November. I also replaced the lower control arm bushings a few years back. I drive the car hard, but I've replaced the transmission in line filter a few times as well as draining and replacing the fluid in the trans.

EX 2007, the best car I ever had, until I bought a Lexus. I love the 7th generation Accord, almost as much as the 4th. I don't love the V6, I love the 2.4 L K24A8, if I want to compete, I'll stick with a 300Z. I love it for its comfort, reliability, fuel consumption, stability on the road. Greetings from Chile.

When I bought my 03 accord, the compressor was already replace, in fact, the had left the broken one in the truck (probably unintentionally), why the compressors fail is because they never made them. They used a company named Denso to make them.

I agree 100 % I have the v6 but I’m now looking to get a 4 cylinder Corolla from about the same year just to save more money on everything but the 4 cylinder accord is a good car. Roomy and great on gas 4 cylinder accord is definitely the way to go at the end of the day I’m never using more than 1/3 throttle anyway

I bought an ‘03 V6 in 2014 with just under 76,000 miles. It was a fun fast car until someone ran into the back of me and totaled it on 12/27/20. Issues: door locks and driver power window were a little tricky. The transmission seemed to show signs of slipping at times. Overall, a great vehicle.

Hi I have a 2005 honda accord 3.0. You are correct about the AC. My car is black and black leather. Yes definitely my car paint is peeling. I have had my alternator starter, power steering pump replaced. I've had all the underneath of my car. Replaced. I'm going to get my serpentine belt replaced. I had my spark plugs replaced. Now I need my hood struts replaced. I will do that myself it's a pretty easy job. One more thing I have to replace my power window switch. I here thats pretty common for honda as well.

In California the Honda Accord 2007 catalytic converter will cost you $2500 in California and you can't use the cheaper ones that are like $100 California will not allow it and in California the Honda Accord is one of the most targeted catalytic converter stolen item on cars.

I actually own 2 accord's 07 V6 and 08 V6 ,the 07 definitely way better car, when I bought it,the air conditioner didn't work, but after a new compressor still didn't work,so I sent it to the dealership, and the problem was the computer,it was replaced and works like an ice box,the 08 in the other hand, has all power it's a EXL model but it's junk ,the engine seized at 204k so I have to scrap it,.

Yup the mounts too weak for the engine IMO. I had to do the fuel pump too. And the CV axles are known to snap too. And the steering pump failed on mine too but not bcz of the pump but bcz of the hose too it cracked in a hidden spot and it would suck air cavitating the pump. I had to replace the I think front pre-cat. Headliner is prob bcz of a leaking sunroof. Yup had to do the ignition switch and starter. The resistors for the stereo HVAC lighting become an issue. Had to replace the alternator (Hate doing on this engine) but that's not atypical for the mileage. I guess I got lucky on the AC. Still running strong 21 yrs later. I love the V6 tho. Nice linear pull in all gears. My car does great Hwy mileage. City meh. Oh and I like one thing tho abt this car. Most of the aftermarket parts are cheap compared to other cars IMO. Abt to go replace the front struts on mine later this evening...
