Here they give you mortgage, but you must have a high income to get the mortgage, then you pay your 500 000€ off every month: about 1000€ per month for … years! You pay the bank interest for the loan. That’s what people also do withs cars, phones etc. !

Going on vacation back home every year does make it tolerable living in cold foreign work countries wright? In Iran mullah is not the biggest problem, it is criminal jealous U.S. government who is starting wars, killing & sanctioning who they can for their countries economy, evil, same as what Israelites are doing & no one noticing or saying nothing weird enough! Sanctions make the economy weaker & prices higher, but we keep our pride because we don’t become U.S. slave/puppet. Bully is not boss, belongs in prison. But also most sunny & beautiful countries have low economy because people have many things to enjoy & are less forced to work. So the people not wanting to work is reason 3 for weak economy. In Amsterdam it is almost always rainy & cold so people have nothing to do but go to work. Which is also sad for the Dutch people & me.

I used to live in Karaj as a child, Khiabane sheshome golha (6th. flower street) , it was such a beautiful area. +30 years later I am sure the greed of people has destroyed this beautiful Villa area with apartment complexes. Maybe I should buy a house there If it still is as beautifull.

@nazanin its no different than here in the US, in the 1970s an avg house cost 4x the avg yearly salary of a middle class worker. In 2022 the income hasnt gone up that much but the housing price vs income is 10x higher.

If someone wants to buy a home in Tehran, it is crazy expensive in a city that is regarded as being one of the least livable cities in the world based on pollution, the traffic and so on. So for a foreigner, it simply isn't worth it. For that money, you could get a place in Turkey and even become a citizen. You mentioned Vanak as being one of the nicer areas and I was there recently and that area is clearly going down hill. Vanak street is starting to look like a ghost town and the area is becoming more commercial and less residential.
