Not true really, the 30 series were awful but that is mainly due to COVID and the crypto mining craze, 40 series people said had awful MSRP and they kept going up but when I watched them the prices were fine, the original 4080 was a pretty bad price but they slightly corrected themselves with the 4080S but still if you're looking for that performance you will just take it. Now with the 50 series if this video was made a year ago then sure don't wait but the announcement is coming in less than 2 months (3 months from the video) so it's kinda obvious what to do if you are looking for a high performance GPU. Sometimes you just have to swallow a tough pill and make a choice, integrated would be useless and it depends on what you want. Looking for a 4060? Probably just go buy a cheap one, you can buy them for around $300 - If you're looking for a higher-end GPU and want/need the maximum performance then yeah wait for the new GPUs, if we're lucky you'll get a 5080 around $1000 and if the performance gap is more than 20% I'd say that is a good deal but realistically I'm hoping for more but expecting less since it's Nvidia. Overall in my opinion with the release being so close (Jan-Feb) there is little to no reason not to wait unless you need something but honestly buy something cheap to hold you off for the meantime, older GPU prices WILL drop a marginal amount so worst case there is small performance differences but you get a nice discount on the GPU you would have bought anyways. Once you have your GPU and lets say the 50 series do end up being good then there is no reason to upgrade till I'd say the 70 series unless we see like 50%+ improvements on native res, not another DLSS FG situation.

Yeah the most probable theory I've seen is that the 5090/5080 will release in Jan, the 5070 in Feb and then the 5060/5050 (If the 5050 is a thing) in March. Overall it's best to wait for most GPUs but unless they have a 12GB 5060 then I see no point in waiting for that but me personally I'm waiting for the 5080 to see if it has a marginal difference to the 4080S, if it does I'll grab that and wait for the 70-80 series GPUs.

I really wanna get the 7900 XTX Taichi cuz here in Europe it's selling for 900. But if the RDNA 4 leaks are to be believed, then the top 8000 GPU should be around the same performance since the 7900 XTX doesnt beat the 4080 by that much. Also it's rumored to be more power efficient and have better ray tracing, the 7900 XTX is a very power hungry card Btw I do expect AMD to release a 8800 XTX if there is no 8900 XT. I'm on a gtx 1080 & 1st gen ryzen 1700. I'm looking a 4070, 4070 ti super, or 7800xt for 1440p. I got a budget of $1,400.. which is what I spent last time for my build.

Like many people with 3 or 4k Nvidia or AMD 6 and 7 Nvidia is not convincing, thanks to AMD fsr 3 and frame generation I may end up keeping it until it DIES. If I can run 2077 with afmf2 and fsr2.1 (because cdpr implementation was shit) with quality, ultra preset on a ultra wide panel at 3440x1440, still above 60 gps WITH RAY TRACING ON (except path tracing) why should I bother? Still have 3 gigs of vram to go on my 6900xt yep a 6900xt.

My 3080 died yesterday, I have no GPU and I’m torn if I should buy now or wait for a 50 series? Or should I upgrade my system first and prep for 50 series? 5700x3d, ROG Strix X570 gaming e, 32gb GSlkill 3600mhz. I was only playing D4 this past few weeks. I’m playing on an Alienware AW3423DW. 5000s gen are just around the corner. in the next 1-2 months im pretty sure that the 5000s generation gpus will come out. do take note that the gpus will cost a lot more probably, and if you want a 5060, you would also need to wait a month or two for the prices to drop from like 500 $ to maybe 400, just like the 4060 ti, and i think it will probably be slightly better AND a better DLSS version, increasing fps by atleast 10-20% i'd say. so imo you should wait, if you cant wait, you can just get a 4060 Ti and it should be good for a year or two

The RTX 40 series was honestly a bit of a letdown so they're not so hard to beat. However I'm starting to be more interested in AMD's offerings because Nvidia's trove of arcane upscaling technologies isn't quite worth the steep premium prices.

I think the TDP (400Watt) for the 5080 is tooo much. Yeah this card will be faster, but the 4080 Super with 320 Watt is much colder an I think cheaper. 1400€ for a 5080 I guess …

Definitely wait. You’ll soon have the opportunity to buy $2,000-$2,500 5090, a $1,500-$1,700 5080, and a $1000 5070- who doesn’t want a piece of that action. With increased VRAM prices, the entire world implementing AI into absolutely anything and the fact that Intel and AMD aren’t going to be competing at the over $1000 price point, Nvidia can charge whatever they want since it’s only $1 out of $11 they’re making anyway, while understanding that the market will pay whatever they asking price.

I don't think 5000 series is impressive. 5080 and 5090 need a nuclear power plant to run. 5070 has only 12GB. I would say wait for 6000 series 😂
