I got over a 100K in the stock market, 500k in real estate and 400k in retirement. The answer is simple. Live within your means, get a second income and work your ass off. Now I am working towards the goal of having my passive income to become my main income. Time is your biggest asset with compound interest and saving.

If I may ask, what do you do on the side? I’m looking for a good side hustle :)

@@TeeBreak stock market, KZbin (really just for fun right now) and flipping items when I find a good deal. In the near future, rental properties and flipping. We currently are looking for our next home to live in, flip or rent out. Honestly, making and keeping money just means buying investments and time. Our home was our biggest asset that double in value over a 10 year period.

Dividends are dope. Personally, I sometimes use my dividends to buy other dividend and growth stocks for diversification instead of reinvesting in the same stock. To each their own methods though. The good thing is that you’re investing in the first place and that’s what’s important.

As the late Charlie Munger used to say, “never sell.” In doing so you avoid the cyclical issue of downturns in the market. Leaving me in a dilemma of either to sell off positions on my $2m portfolio or buying more brk.a and b on the dip?

Exactly, a good number of people discredit the effectiveness of financial advisor, but over the past 10years, I’ve had a financial advisor consistently restructure and diversify my portfolio/expenses and I’ve made over $3million in gains… might not be a lot but i'm financially secure and that's fine by me

Putting well-earned money into the stock market can't be over emphasised for first-time investors, unlike a bank where interest is sure thing! Well, basically times are uncertain, the market is out of control, and banks are gradually failing. I am working on a ballpark estimate of $5M for retirement, and I have a good 6-figure loaded up for this, could there be any opportunity for a boomer like me?

Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2019, and I return at least $275k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.

In attempted to do this and a tax attorney advised me against it. Another lie is that there are these awesome tax advantages. That’s only partly true. If you ever sell, you will pay all of it back. If you do a 1031 exchange you can keep those tax deductions, that’s the difference.
