Buy To Lets, Mortgages, And The Proposed New EPC Laws

As a Landlord, the recent increase in mortgage interest rates has affected me to the point where I wonder if its worth doing anymore. On top of that, there are new proposed laws that if a rented property doesnt have an EPC rating of C and above, you will no longer be able to rent it out and run the risk of a £30,000 fine. Combine this with the new section 21 laws coming in and the fact that we are being taxed upon our turnover rather than our profit, I honestly wonder if the private rental sector is about to collapse, leaving local councils and the government to pick up the pieces and house all these people.

Good informative video about the problems that can occur when buying to let. Can i ask you wot u actually do for a living - apart from repair clocks and restore cars? ( seeing as u intend to do all or most of the work by yourself ) Just curious, thats all.

Thank you Graham. Well I am actually retired but I have done many things for a living. My last business was an estate agency. but prior to that I did building work and prior to that I had a breakers yard I have owned an ice cream van, had a market stall and even worked in a factory ironing garments for 6 pence a piece. Theres lots more in between all of that. My trouble is, I get bored easily🤣🤣🤣

Hi Paul. I'm sad to say that the TR6 will have to go on the back burner for a while. So that means my plans for finishing before Christmas are scrapped
