Buyer Beware - Eagle Wheelchair Fraud Exposed

This video is specifically for anybody shopping for a foldable power wheelchair with an in-frame battery design. You would not believe the level of fraud and deceptive marketing practices prevalent in the industry today! This video shows you a website that we ordered a chair from, the third party using that website to sell the chair, the deceptive pictures used, and the item that was absolutely not as pictured as it is opened up. Let the buyer beware!

I agree with everything in this video EXCEPT the implication that ONLY old people use wheelchairs. At age 49, I fight that bias and stereotype every day. Disability does not discriminate against age.

Hi Andee, Thank you for your comment and I agree. I let my emotions get in the way of proper articulation in the video. There is no specific age group that uses and relies on medical mobility aids to live day to day life. The part that frustrated / frustrates me about this type of dishonesty the most, is it is predatory behavior to those who may be too sick, too tired and too worn out to put up a fight. In turn they accept what is given, despite being blatantly deceived. I agree with your point 100%.

I have progressive Multiple Sclerosis and the pandemic lockdowns we’re not helpful at all for my disease. After successfully managing my MS symptoms with alternative approaches for 16 years, I reluctantly needed a wheelchair to get out of my home and back to living life again when the world opened up. I watched every single KZbin video (numerous times) before buying my magenta pink Eagle power wheelchair from Quick N Mobile. My husband is a disabled war time vet and goes to the VA and needs an electric wheelchair, which is why I'm watching these videos. I didn't know the VA would get these type chairs. Do they have a list of chairs they allow you to pick from or did you just let them know which one you wanted? I'm sure they have a cost limit, but I'm going to check into this. If you don't mind, will you let me know if you were able to show them what you wanted? Or, was the Eagle already on their approved list? I bought my Eagle HD from you January 4 2020 and still love it and used it today to go for a ride, I don't need it anymore since it has been a year since my hip replacements but for the last two years it has been a blessing to have it. I still have not had to charge it as the batteries charge last a long time. I would recommend buying from your company. I don't know that dealer but I don't live that far from them.

I have had some dealings with Suncoast. I tried to visit in person. GPS took me to the local post office. That address is one of the St Pete Florida Post Offices. He stopped returning my calls when I advised I tried to come visit the store. My need was a folding scooter. Dodged a bullet with them. DISGUSTING.

Just looking at the knock off I can tell it is going to be extremely uncomfortable or even painful due to the corners that were cut on the frame construction and even the cushion looks awful as someone who is in a wheelchair 24/7 365 days a year for 13. I would be afraid to put anyone I care about in the knock off for safety reasons because of their deception with the batteries it shows they are unethical! Thanks so much for doing this video!

I purchased a eagle HD for my wife and she absolutely loves it. You guys are wonderful company and it is a shame that there are people out there who are going to copycat especially dealing with equipment that is medical grade I mean she gets wonderful compliments on her chair from everyone and we live in Florida. Thank You - Thank You! I have been diligently looking for a chair for the last 3 years. Money is so tight when you struggle with a Chrinic Disease. Unfortunately having a chronic illness you do have to penny pinch. Saving a “few” hundred dollars is like winning the lottery! What a sad shame to take advantage of people who struggle trying to make it day by day physically & financially. What makes it worse is the Caregiver is included in this vicious scheme adding unnecessary stress & heartache to their overloaded day. I have 3 chairs narrowed down 2 are by you. The Eagle or Falcon. I bought the Eagle HD7 love it had been damaged in transit or in factory storage they replaced it. I can use it easily and get it in and out of car myself would highly recommend this company and products.

Similar to BBB, consumer reports is a business itself. Sure, you can complain, but complaints to those types of companies are a waste of time we feel. Documenting these types of events with videos is a great way to spread awareness. You watched this, but I wonder of you have read consumer reports, or even if consumer reports actually has all the consumables in the US published for the world to see? Hopefully, you understand our point and perspective.

But the question is, is Inframe batteries worth $1000+ extra? Like the All Stars Electric foldable Wheelchair has really good reviews and warranteed, its similar to the Falcon, but it's not an inframe battery.

We tend to believe it is. Do you want to be crawling behind your chair to unscrew cords or fish out a battery? Not only that, there is max weight capacity, brushed motors vs brushless motors (lasts longer, more expensive) FDA approval, FAA approved batteries, and MANY other factors to consider, including replacement parts (which we have).

Hi Daustin, functional is not the point of the video. The chair that was advertised was a 50lbs chair with in frame batteries and different size dimensions than the one they decided to send. That company is no longer on that big box website selling either. Yes, people do look for bargains. There is nothing wrong with bargain shopping. Personally, I would rather VALUE shop than bargain shop. Value for dollars spent is batter than a bargain any day of the week in our opinion. We get many phone calls on a daily basis from people who learned the hard way the high cost of bargain shopping and getting something different than they believed they were paying for. Makes sense? The chair you mentioned seems like a legitimate company. Its a chair with under seat batteries, not in frame batteries. The issue with this one was a bait and switch. They showed "The Eagle" wheelchair, which has in frame batteries, on their online store, then sent the monster you see in the video. The model we were sent is heavier than the Eagle, and has under seat batteries only accessible from the back of the chair. When you looked at their ads, you believed your were getting an Eagle, for a discount. Imagine your surprise when that thing shows up instead!

So what are the mobility equipment sellers in the community going to do about it? It is not often about trying to save money, but rather insufficient funding to buy the device locally. Who can afford the cost in the first place. Half the time people with mobility disabilities cant get a credit card. This sort of "educAtion" is blaming the disabled for not being to afford the device. What fundinv support do you offer? Publicise that so people who need to use electric wheelchair know where to go for help. What is Amazon doing about this. Are you going to inform Amazon. If you know yhis os happening, what is your ethical responsiblity.

That's shameful. I purchased mine last year from you all. YOU even personally called me to talk about my purchase which blew me away. I hated the fact that literally a week later I caught COVID SARS 19 and after 8 months of fighting in the hospital I could not physically use my chair anymore....... Luckily I'll be getting something a bit better for my needs. But by far if this is the chair that will fit your needs GET IT. There was nothing like the customer service and quality I got. Shame people are framing to sell things like your company.
