Hasn’t Shane just copied the original SB rollers and ‘tweaked’ the design? The form, fit and function are the same as the original SB rollers. If people want to pay extra for a Moteck roller they will, if people want to buy an alternative cheaper product they will. It doesn’t even need a bearing, it probably rotates at less than 100 RPM. The original designers of the mower realised that and realised that for the function of the mower it wasn’t necessary and adding a bearing just added extra time and cost to the mower.

At the end of the day a front roller is a front roller, you're right. Have a look at the wear on a well-used, original front roller shaft. The resultant slop can lead to an uneven cut. Adding the bearings most certainly adds cost to this component
