Look at it from a general manager point of view.. granted there are later round exceptions, but most of the cream of the crop when it comes to o-line play is going to be in the first and second round of the draft. The Giants have several holes to fill, trust me as a fan I know. Would you rather select a rookie that might need a couple years to develop even if they're in the first round and then find yourself having to pay them first round money, or a proven commodity??

Jones is not the worst NFL QB, but he will never be an elite QB. Furthermore, elite QB's make their receivers look better than they actually are, while Jones never made anyone look better. Barkley was the best offensive player on the team for certain, but he was injured so often and simply was unable to be the running back the Giants desperately needed, a power Running Back able to run over people, make holes when no holes exist. Barkley can make big plays, but for every big run, he has 15 where he loses yardage.

So... In case you mutton headed analysts still don't understand what happened...at the end of the 2022 playoff season the Giants had 2 Free Agents that they had to retain.... Daniel Jones, and Saquon Barkley.... The plan was to sign one and franchise the other.... they wanted to sign SB, to a $13 million + /yr deal, and franchise DJ.....BUT... SB didn't like that deal and it forced the Giants to sign DJ, and franchise SB. Now by the time DJ's contract is over, it'll be valued as an average QB salary... for an average QB. DJ's Deal is 4yrs /$160 million, with an out clause after 2 yrs.... so if they wanted to get rid of DJ... they'd be stuck paying him this year anyway..... Now.... is there an available franchise QB, that's obviously better than DJ, who can walk in off the street and play??? um.... I Don't believe there is, and neither do the Giants....

The truth is, it's way harder to stop an elite passing attack without a elite RB, than it is to stop one with an elite RB.
