Jones is literally Dave Brown 2.0. Both were QB'S who wore #17 at Duke. Both were drafted by the Giants with a 1st round pick (Brown came through the supplemental draft). Both replaced 2x Super Bowl champions (Jones/Manning, Brown/Simms) Both have one winning season to their name and an overall losing record. And Jones will almost certainly follow Brown's post NFL career path into investment management, making more money than 99% of the population. For their own individuals sake, they are highly successful. For the Giants they are just Meh.

Scapegoating offensive lines is lazy. Offensive lines are just QB tools, and Jones never uses his. Good QBs do. That is why the true test for any QB is to replace them for a week and see just exactly which "offensive line issues" carry over and which don't. Isn't it weird that the New York Giants' "terrible" offensive line stopped being terrible the second they stuck Danny Gababoul in there when Jones got injured last year? Almost makes you think, doesn't it? Almost the same way it almost makes you think when their "horrible" offensive tackles just magically stop being horrible when they move to a new team, like Ereck Flowers did. Because that almost makes it look as if the offensive line is not actually the issue in New York, but rather the terrible QBs they have played since Eli stopped being good in 2014 and the horrible head coaches they have had since firing Macadoo. Weird! But that can't be right, can it? I mean look at all them people over there repeating that the offensive line is trash like a mantra. They can't all be wrong, can they? And yes they can. They most certainly can. Group think as almost always wrong, and all you need to do to confirm that is to look at the draft nearly every year.
