They're great aren't they! The CXD/WPL design and construction reminds me of the Tyco R/C toys of the 90s, but completely upgradeable / repairable.

Agreed. If I could only choose one I'd get the WPL D-12 as it's larger and has more upgrades available. As a toy itself though, I find the D12 Mini to be incredibly fun to drive, I just wish they made upgrades and more in this range.

Better quality? Yeah. It would be great to have a high quality transmitter of that size. Surely someone will make one eventually.

Doesn't the D12 just have rubber wrapped around hard plastic wheels? If the mini is the same, couldn't a person just remove the rubber part for a set of down and dirty drift wheels?

That could work, or you just do the tape trick instead (electrical tape around the tyre).

The CXD D12 Mini is bad quality, when i ordered it it broke because the gears were loose, it might be only my problem.

Sounds like bad luck. Mine's still going strong. Still, this is a very cheap car, made for DIY, upgrades, etc. I'd recommend contacting WPL and asking for replacement parts. www.wpl-rc.com/

@CheapCheerful True! I've been having bad luck in RC, my MN Models MN82/LC79 remote wasn't working and was glitching right when i tried it.
