The only thing that sketches me out with these ones is the small possibility of a cell losing connection to the bus bars and regaining connection at a way different state of charge. That in theory could put hundreds of amps through a discharged cell.. This would be a lot harder to do on a soldered pack.

I got one of these and it seems to stop charging devices as soon as it drops to 98% Is that an issue you had at all?
@CheapCheerful
@CheapCheerful 5 күн бұрын
Hello. This could be caused by two things. 1. Some devices are so low current that I find many powerbanks (inc. this one) fail to detect something is connected. Try connecting another device, especially a higher draw power one and see if the same happens. And 2. Most importantly, when you first get it, it's necessary to calibrate it so the correct % is displayed. Do this by putting it on charge for a long time, until it reaches 100%. For flat 18650 batteries that should take about 12 hours or more. Then drain it fully until its no longer providing power. Then change it fully again to 100%, and it will be calibrated. Again, if you have 32x batteries it should take about 12 hours to charge, so if its not taking very long to charge then I'd be suspicious of your batteries. There are many fakes, and super low quality 18650s out there, and even with 32 of them you'd get very little charge. The onboard electronics of this are very simple, quite a common board, so for any issues following the above, I'd be suss on the batteries first and foremost. Good luck! :)

Please do not make the mistake i did and put a battery in reverse in there. You get a short circuit and the spring will heat up and shrink. I removed the spring plate, created a battery pack with a spot welder that fits in there, and soldered the + and - and it feels much better (sturdier) then using springs.

I use those worthless cells whose capacity is not enough for anything reasonable. For example, the "makita" batteries of Chinese tools are usually 500mAh garbage, and thus they have to be re-celled and the garbace cells I used this kind of cheap bowerbank case. As long as they don't empty themselves, when they are side by side (they automatic balanced), it doesn't matter what the capacity of each is. This light powebank is handy somewhere in the corner of the garage if you ever need it. I wouldn't waste quality cells on such bad powerbanks case. There is no 20V output and not even 65W or 100W usb ports. If you use good expensive cells use also good gase what can delivery more.

Yep, I use second hand cells. I'm looking at a 100W powerbank too but they're quite expensive ($100+ AUD without cells). If there's any particular 65-100W you'd recommend, I'd love to know.

I have a 20 watt LED halogen and thanks to a 5v to 12v USB converter I can power such a lamp for several hours.... all that was required was to add a few pp1 metal plates to cool the converter. Mixing cells and capacity is fine if you know what you are doing. As lithium ion batteries discharge is voltage dependent and they stay the same voltage at all times. Varying the current they supply. You must make sure the 18650 can supply the current requirement of the devive they are used in. In parallel current of each battery can very, but in series they must match current

It may have been worth mentioning that all the batteries you put in must be at a similar voltage/charge level for safety. If one is flat and the next one is full, the full one will try to charge the flat one at it's maximum output capacity potentially leading to thermal runaway/fireworks.

IDk what the cap is but labtops have to be under a 100,000mah and the power bank is like 70/80. It's literally right next to me. My only gripe and why I have to mod it is, fast charging. I need to fast charge and pass though charge at very high wattage. so my idea is to buy 4 100 watt usb c boards and attach them to the same cell bank. So I could charge the bank with up too 4 chargers or whatever the calculated limit is 1C maybe IDk. and also discharge at the same time like a high wattage pass though. They don't seem to make those. Have you tested any of the mini electric drills? I say any but I can't actually find many! I've seen some people rave about the Tamiya Handy Drill, zero interest in that personally given it is itself a fiddly plastic kit that you have to assemble! Only other one that I've found is the Wowstick Drill. There's loads of screwdriver / grinder / sander tools out there but notably, none of them take anything other than generic drill bits, the Dspiae grinder for example won't accept their own tungsten drill bits from the pin vise (and I don't need yet another pin vise). I'm guessing it's because grinders and the like spin to fast and thus melt plastic etc vs the Wowstick drill which, from what I've read, has lower speed but higher torque than most of these cruddy $10-15 dremel / grinder devices.

It should run OK with the stock electronics, but if its cutting out then it suggests the motor is over-drawing, likely due to too much friction in the gears. Try to adjust the gears so they mesh well (barely touching, should be relatively free), and add some grease. If you did want to upgrade, then a popular choice is a DumboRC X6 controller (includes receiver), then you just need any cheap 40A or 60A Brushed ESC (check ebay). Not sure about a small metal servo sorry, have'nt done that myself yet. Good luck :)
