Thank you for sharing your road trip with this classic car! I had a 1965 Sedan De Ville many years ago and loved the 429, It was smooth, powerful, and never let me down. Once you fix this right it will become your best friend! All the best!
@debonairecatalina65707 ай бұрын
really nice of your friend to leave you behind like that... i was once left like that when my 1969 AMC Ambassadors' alternator died 23 miles away from where i was stationed at the time, and of course - not a soul answered my phone calls before it died.. so i was left with no other option than to walk into the howling winter night back to Ellsworth alone. i hope this Cadillac treats you as well as my AMC has. it'll be there when nobody else seems to have a care. i wish you luck, and i hope that A.C gets fixed. Once you have it working you'll never want to go without it again XD.

'65's were Cadillac's answer to the '61 Continental, as was the '64 Imperial for Chrysler. Great color too! 429's made 345h.p.! If 429's wear out and overhaul becomes necessary, some guys swap into the later 472 which have many aftermarket performance upgrades available, are bulletproof and readily available parts supply.

There’s a component in the master cylinder called a residule check valve . It’s purpose is to maintain a certain amount of pressure in the hydrolic line to ensure all the sealing components are able to maintain a seal. If this valve is malfunctioning you can build up an increasing amount of pressure in the brake line with each application of the brakes. Eventually locking up the whole braking system and the pressure must be released manually at one of the bleeder valves.

Quick tip, if your older vehicle engine is getting hot you can turn on your heater all the way up and on full blast like he did, it will be hotter than a virgin at a Hootinnany but it will get you to the next auto store or at least home.

I had a Ford Orion and almost all the rad fins had rusted off. It would overheat in summer but I learnt to turn the demister on heat and open the sunroof. That trick worked well.
@79tazman3 жыл бұрын
The self adjusters when they work only adjust in reverse they don't adjust in forward but you may have the wheel cylinders that go out when you hit the brakes and then stay out instead of going back in and that could be the master cylinder causing that issue. That would cause the brake pedal from going down and not coming back up too the master is allowing the brakes to stop but not releasing when you take the foot off the brake or only releasing a bit but not all the way.

"I will Subcscribe, I will Subscribe.. Hey hey. I will Subscribe" .. I would love one of these Caddies to work on & to use regularly. They are complicated though, like many other luxo-cruisers. Lincoln was just as complex So when too many systems go bad, then so does the engine. As you know ..Boo hoo hoo. I adore land yauchts ! Yeah, Very enjoyable and thanks for your interesting narration. I don't know if I mentioned it earlier, but "I Subscribed !" 1965 is my fave Cadillac, ever since I saw one smashed in the movie: 'The Seven Uppers' (-a Great car chase.)

Hey brother I just watched your video from 3 years ago when you bought that black Cadillac and you were driving at home dude you didn't have no heat cuz you didn't have no coolant and you looked everywhere but the reservoir and the damn radiator and you when you release the cap on the radiator that relieves it of the pressure so therefore you should have left it up but I wouldn't the first thing I would have did when the heat goes Its means you got no coolant but peace man I love your content I watch your videos I'm a subscriber and I love classic cars I'm looking for me a Cadillac I've been looking like crazy and it's you can't find them and the people I found a 76 this guy 2,800 I'm trying to buy it trying to buy it trying to buy it cash money he ain't calling me back or nothing you know it's crazy people out there brother but you keep on keeping on man and I'll see you next video peace brother

Ya might want to try the radio again, the old car radios needed to warm up before they would work, they aren't like modern radios you just turn them on and they work. Let it warm up and try it again.
@WitchKing-Of-Angmar3 жыл бұрын
It takes just about 4 seconds for it to warm up, that implies that in the winter they don't work... You don't warm them up, they bounce on.
