I get 17 city and around 21-22 highway with my 4Runner with 162,000 miles and larger 265-75 tires. I think you may need a tune up if you're getting that kind of mileage. The tank is just shy of 19 gallons and I I am at empy on the gauge, it is full at 13-14 gallons so the needle is not correct. I hit 250 miles before I was freaking out about needing to fill up. check your plugs, air filter, fuel filter, ect. It's not efficient by any means, but you should be getting more mpg.

What this guy said. I have an '02 with a 2" lift and 265/75 all terrains and on a bad tank I average 17-17.5 MPG. Do plugs, wires, filters and see where it stands.

I have a 2000 4runner with 214,000miles and i agree with everything u said. The seat is super uncomfortable and hurts my back but its really reliable. Only had a couple problems with the exhaust and breaks otherwise pretty good

What were the issues you experienced with the exhaust and brakes? I like to know what to keep an eye out for

You should do some videos with sea foam. Toyotas are famous for showing really big results after sea foam.

Ryan Moyer sea foam is a great idea. I have a 1997 4Runner on 32" BFG All-Terrains and a 3" lift, and I'm getting 20 on the highway, and about -7 in the city (I live in the mountains). Also, I do have a K&N intake and I've seen a marked increase in mileage.

I think we got like 220 once. For not being a V8 I want it to be more. I think it has to do with the trans. 4-speed auto is worse that the 5-speed​ standard.

i have a 97 runner and i was thinking working on a way to relocate the exhaust pipe and put another gas tank alongside the other running dual 18.5 tanks with a transfer pump or taking out the spare tire and fitting like a 30 gal tank. but i live in CA so it's going to be a challenge i get around 316 miles to a tank
